????, have you ever done your own research on jws? Not just child-abuse ,but their beginning's, their assets.

You must be questioning your faith or you would not be here. Really in all honesty have you ever looked into what this religion is really about not just what the watchtower tells you?

    LittleWitch,

Lighten up on this poster will you. You obviously believe this is a troll at work, but the evidence suggests that at the very least you should wait and see. If you have clear evidence that this person is not who they say that they are, present it to a moderator and leave them deal with it.

As a general comment, why is it so difficult for many XJW's to see that attacking individual JW's will not change WTS policy however hard we attack them?

    Best regards - HS

very well Kate. Like I said before, I will leave off with accusations.

Now as for the topic at hand, I am still engaged. Unless of course you tell me I cant do that.

Why would we disfellowship a brother or sister or elder or MS etc. for these things but at the same time keep and protect child abusers it makes no sence. Why would we do this ? to keep members ?

I wish I knew the answer, and yet it happens. I have personal knowledge of two cases here in Dallas. One the abuser was convicted. The other the abuser was literally caught in the act. In both cases, the elders refused to take any action whatsoever against the offender. Why? In my own case, my father abused me when I was a preschooler. His mother and another relative were willing to testify to the elders, however they were not allowed to as they were "worldly".

Are there individuals who are stellar human beings, or who do not, would not ever behave this way? Of course, but there are the same individuals in the Catholic religion. By their actions the Society shows where their sympathies lay. If you don't believe it, I'm sorry for you, but it doesn't change the reality of what's going on.

if thats the case lets change all the rules and kick out the child abusers and keep the many thousands that get disfellowshiped each year for these other things!

Excellent! Exactly what Jesus would do, eh?

let me try to understand a little better: are you saying that my brother who was diffed for not stopping smoking would not have been diffed if they found out he was a child abuser.

Child molestation is a "sensational" crime that gets a lot of attention from the community and media... smoking does not.

They will attempt to cover over the one that will draw a lot of attention to anything bad in the organization, therefore the molestation will be covered up.

Again, they are protecting their image.

    Heres what you said:

Jehovah Witnesses disfellowship members for the following: Smoking, sex before...........the list is very long

Because child molestation, child rape, is one of the most disgusting, revolting and despicable crimes in the whole wide world. Do you know that even in prisons, if you are a child rapist, you will be at the bottom of the heap, the lowest of the low, and mostly raped yourself? People that do this stuff are segregated even from murderers. Wonder why. You obviously haven't looke at silentlambs.com. So all of these people are LYING? That's a great leap to make. They're ALL lying? Is that what you are saying?

I heard it for myself. My own brother says that if the brothers don't have to report child rape to the authorities that they don't. Would Christ have done this?

Somebody's got to help these poor children that are cuaght in this crazy f*ckin religion.

I don't know your brother. I do know the Society's teachings about smoking just as I know their teachings, and actions, about child abuse. I know for a fact that convicted child abusers have had no judicial action taken against them. My late father in law was an elder for 40 years. He told me the Society's instructions are for the elders to call Brooklyn first and receive instructions directly from them.

Do all convicted child abusers avoid judicial action? Don't know. But I do know there is a very serious and widespread problem. Hearing Witnesses say 'it's all a lie' doesn't help solve the problem. Isn't providing spiritual comfort to a brutalized child more in line with Christ's philosphy than rigidly adhering to rules?

smoking is more up front methinks. The smell lingers, someone sees you smoking and reports you.

A gal shows up pregnant (pretty obvious clue)

Jw's are encouraged to "report" such sins or be "blood guilty" themselves. Not so with child molestation and abuse, which is hidden from view. People don't go to jail for smoking or for having legal sex. Not so with a CRIME such as molestation.

It is over the "secret" and illegal wrongs that we seem to disagree on. For example: If a person (just one) went to a jw elder and said, " I saw brother so and so kill his wife"! There is no doubt that the elder would seek assistance from the authorities. There is no doubt in my mind about that.

Why then do they hide the crime of child abuse?

It is because it is unimportant to them. It is more important to hide it, to sweep it under the rug. To "keep jehovah's organization clean".

Why do the Amish still use horse drawn carriages? Tradition. Blind tradition....

Ok, I here what your saying I'm sure it happens but I'm sure it not our policy theirs a big difference. Also we do not let the elders control our lives we know who we are acountable to and its not elder over zelous. So what i don't understand is everyone I no that has kids including me would not stand their and let a elder or a body of elders tell me not to go the police.Everyone with children wants whats best for there child and we no that in is country going to the police will put a stop to things. We don't call the elders if were getting Robbed or raped. but if we live in a country where the police don't react like they do here we may handle things differently. I believe that the point the 93 Awake was making.
