Thanks to you all for your kind words about me.

As has been abundantly noted, so many people can contribute so many things and in awesome and different ways. I salute all of you!

I bring irreverance and attempt to inject humor. Sometimes I succeed and sometime I don't. I keep chugging, though. One never knows when one can make a difference in just ONE human's life. I don't take crap from anyone. Some don't like that. Mostly, those that don't like that are people who put out crap themselves and expect me and others to accept it. I don't care: I just call crap when I see crap, and if I'm wrong, I admit it. It's pretty simple. I never pretended to be anyone's guru and when some look to me to be one, I terrorize them. I've had my gut full of wannabe gurus and all they've sold me is a pile of crap. With a pile of crap in my lap, what do I have to sell? Nothing. Facts, yes. A better way? No. First one should discover the crap and the "better way" part ain't my job.

It's also good to have a few laughs along the way. Laughs about the insanity of what we've all been through is good, doncha think?

AlanF and NormH have done some very hard work for our benefit. Neither of them are especially suited to funny stuff, but who cares? They give us great stuff. They are awesome in their research. AlanF has stated several times that he and almost all of us are building on the work of others. There are many others who preceded us, and we all deeply appreciate their hard work.

I could talk for dozens of pages about the fine ex-JWs who have contributed so much, but I just will wave a "high five" to all of you/them and say, "Thank you. From the bottom of my heart for all you've given us."

    Here's one kudu:

Gary Busselman: you are awesome, dude!

    Randy Watters: ditto, brother!

Well this is a great thread. But it would be far easier for me to name the ones I don't like to read, because they are so few. The list of the ones I always like to catch is lengthy:
HadEnough, OutnFree, Scorpion, Alan F, Jan H, Waiting, Safe4kids, Tina, Seven of Nine, Amazing, Maximus, TMS, Tergivesator, SF, SlipnSlide, JT, Farkel, Tallyman, Java, Simon, LostMyReligion, Francoise, RedHorseWoman, and on and on and on.

Like I said, the negative ones would be much shorter! I love this place!

Thanks, Venice, for returning my little black book!

Some of my clients had been complaining about the recent decline in quality service and will be pleased to learn that it's back in competent hands.

It's rather tragic, but some had even been hospitalized for bosom overload.

Sorry to rush off--Bonanza's on! Love that Hoss!

It was a little over 5 years ago that I discovered the Internet.
Like so many, even tho I had been out for years, first thing I typed into a search engine was "Jehovah's Witnesses". Wow!

First sites I saw were Kent's Watchtower Observer and JanH's All Along the Watchtower. Those two kept coming up! I was fascinated. Looked at their personal profiles with interest. Kent's page invited readers to "Post me if you want". I did. It was the first e-mail I ever sent anyone. Imagine my amazement at receiving a reply in a short time, all the way from Norway. Wow! Almost better than telephone! What fun!

Next I very cautiously posted the administrator of Jesus-Witnesses and asked about subscribing to the list. I didn't even know what that meant. To my amazement I found many of my friends already there: Jim Penton, AlanF, Kent and JanH were there, and other people I had met at BRCI.
Within one week, I read the symptoms of Internet addiction, and I had every one of them, BIG time. My life has never been the same since.
Within 6 months, I introduced my own website with its own domain, and within a year my own exJW discussion lists. It was quite a bit later that I got interested in H2O, but I found a lot of my friends already there as well.

So, for those on this list along the way, I want to thank (not necessarily in this order), Kent, JanH, AlanF, and Norm. "thanks for the memories". (Shades of Jes-Wit and Philia--and the Elders' manual <grin>) Kent was supportive of newbie-me starting Beacon website.
Later on, Amazing whom he and I discovered we had already known each other via correspondence for some years even before the Internet.
    COMF for his balanced temperament.
Applause for Rick (Derrick) for his success with H2O. I don't think any other board drew as much attention from Brooklyn. I hope this one will. Thank you Simon.
LiberalElder for bringing the blood issue to world attention.
SilentLamb for bringing the issue of child abuse to world attention
    Maximus, GodBless
All the newer ones and lurkers--especially those in Brooklyn.
And all of you whom I have met, both on-line and off, along the way, thanks for the memories.
I'm one who is glad I was a JW, because my favorite people are exJWs.

    Hey Black Man,
Good idea! Only problem is I know I'm going to forget some people, you know??
But lessee...people I ALWAYS read: Farkel, Englishman, FreePeace, BugEye, BugEyesWife, Esther, Tina, UncleBruce, Expat, Seeker, Think41self, Wasasister, GinnyTosken, Patio, Outnfree, Ozziepost, PeaceLoveHarmony, Riz, Rcat, Freddi...ahh geez, I'm gonna name most of the board!! There are so many people who make me laugh, make me cry, make me think, make me outraged...you name it, I've felt it on this board. And I love it!

Hm, I'm almost afraid to post anything here because I know I'll have to leave people out, and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. So, before that happens, I just want to thank everyone here simply for being themselves. I've probably read something that's been posted by just about everyone who's posted here since I signed on, and it's good that there's so much variety. The constant appearance of new stuff and the nice mix of different ideas are what keep me coming back.

Seems like all the usual suspects have been named already, so I'll just say, "What everybody else said." That, and:

JanH, believe it or not, I like you. I don't always like the way you go about things (you do sometimes give the impression that anyone who isn't an all-or-nothing atheist must have something wrong with them), but I do like you. I really do enjoy reading your posts on the Bible, [the Xtian version of] God, etc., because the historical and scientific facts you present are very interesting. It's just the "opinion" stuff where we might disagree.

Farkel, I don't even know why I'm telling you this since it probably doesn't mean much coming from someone who likely means nothing to you. But I've enjoyed your posts since the H2O days. You're smart, articulate and funny, and your writing is a pleasure to read. Thank you for all of your good work.

Anyone who's ever posted something for me (or sent me a rare e-mail) that I didn't answer, I apologize. I know it's awful manners, but I really don't do it on purpose, and I'm not trying to ignore anyone. I always want desperately to say something more meaningful/clever/useful than just, "Hey, thanks!" -- and usually end up not saying anything. I have the same problem in real life.

And for all my fellow "invisible posters" out there that no one has mentioned by name, hang in there. Even if feel like no one cares about what you have to say, it's a pretty safe bet that someone somewhere has read and appreciated something that you've written. Just keep on thinking, caring and posting. You never know what the result will be, even if you're never told.

    *Rochelle.
