    Who is Maximus?

When I first came to this board, Maxiums made some kindly responses to my posts. Anyway, is Maxiums an X-CO/DO? He obviously, was high-up in the JW-clergy! I wish he'd continue on this board but he was blasted by some jerks in the past and has decided to retreat for now!

    JH, thanks for your inquiry!

Cyberguy, is an x-Bethelite from 1978-1980, the turbulent years. I was in the Publishing Department, and worked on the precursor to the MEPS. My main concern was developing typesetting software, with a specific assignment to revamp of the NWT and moving it to electronic typesetting.

I?ve been the JW-religion most of my life. However, my mother never fully accepted the JW-religion, and had me go to Presbyterian Churches since my preteens and afterward for some years. We/I also went to the KH at the same time?go figure. My mother actually saw-through the JW-crap, and I suppose this is the reason she didn?t want me to become one!

I was an Elder for about 14 years, and I?m doing the fade-thing, in my late 40?s. My JW family no longer talks to me.

Actually, Maximus and Minimus are identical twins.

In all seriousness Maximus was once a great poster here. It sure would be nice to hear from him again.

In recent times, there have been many comments of appreciation for Maximus; I'd suggest a simple search would give you much helpful information.

May I point out that here on JWD we respect the dignity and anonymity of all posters and so we don't favor asking for his identity.

It's certainly good to see how Maximus was appreciated and this highly esteemed poster's words of wisdom and insights may be checked out on the "Best of Maximus" thread: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/32/76267/1.ashx

Maximus is a friend of mine. He most certainly was a CO, DO and special "troubleshooter" for the WTS. He was involved in editing and arrangement of material in a number of the society's books, including the "Your Will" and "Paradise" books in the late 1950's.

I had a picture of him taken with Nathan Knorr, but it got lost in a hard drive crash.

His health is very poor, although he has improved some recently. For his own personal reasons, he doesn't want to be contacted by his friends at present. Although that may change as he starts to feel better.

He has heaped a whole bunch of guilt upon himself over his wasted decades with the WTS, even though as a WTS elite, he was considered one of the "good" guys by just about everyone who worked with him.

I once asked him if in all his years in giving his entire life to the society and having difficult and demanding positions of authority, the society (GB) ever thanked him for his sacrifices and efforts. He said, "Never. Not once."

Once, he said, his immediate WTS supervisor wrote a very positive review of his performance and praised his efforts. The tops dogs at the WTS told the supervisor to "tone it down," as they felt such praise might make Maxiumus feel more important than they thought he was.

This man is not only a gentlemen, but has educated himself in Latin, ancient history, medicine and the fine arts. Like Ray Franz, Ed Dunlap and other fine men, the WTS never appreciated him, took him for granted and ultimately lost him.

I'm glad you came in to answer this question. I tried searching some of his threads last night but couldn't find what you already know. And I knew that you would know lol

If you are in touch with him theses days please let him know his work in the WTS and the knowledge he has shared has resulted in many people being helped to freedom. His work was not for nothing. Let him know too that he now has a Best of thread. We haven't forgotten him and we do appreciate all he has done.

    Thanks Farkel!

You provided eactly what I wanted to know! I wasn't interested in specifics, such as his name, address, and phone #, but rather, his background in an indiscriminant way; you provided exactly what I was wishing to find out! Thanks again!
