Who is Maximus?

    Farkel,

I, too, would like to be put on a list of those who feel gratitude to Maximus. I was coming out of the WT right around the time he was most active, just a little before he stopped posting. I'm sorry he's not well. His privacy should by all means be respected. He helped me A LOT. If you ever have the opportunity to pass on my thanks, please do. Should he ever feel well enough to talk about his experience here again, you should post a message and give us the opportunity to thank him. I think he's great. He's exactly the kind of knowledable insider who can demystify the whole JW experience. He made my transition considerably smoother than it would have been. (And while I'm doling out the praise, a hearty thank you to you Farkel, you may not be a Maximus, but you've been a BIG help as well)

    Voltaire,

This is precisely the kind of thing that Maximus should hear. I'll pass your comments along and maybe Max will read them. If he does, I know him well enough that he will at least smile. Maybe more.

EVERYONE needs validation. It's just who we are. We all want to feel that we've made a difference in this life.

    Hey Fark:

I had the privilege of having a couple of telephone conversations with him while he was active in posting here. We knew many of the same people and it was great having 'an old timer' share his experience and wisdom with me.

Please give him my best regards (from his friend in Toronto) when you speak to him next. Our conversations certainly took a lot of the weight off my shoulders at the time. He has no idea how much those conversations meant to me.

    Thanks

    Uzzah,

: He has no idea how much those conversations meant to me.

Yeah. He doesn't. He's a lot like me and that's why we related to each other. He denied any acknowledgement for any of his contributions on H20 or here. He thought he never made a difference with his sharing. (He did.) He said he didn't have a real audience in here (he did). He was so hurt when the idiot bottom-feeders came forward and attacked him and demanded stuff from him that he didn't and shouldn't reveal.

In short, all of the good he did was derailed by the scum-sucking bottom feeders who only care about themselves and their ten seconds of fame on this board.

You gotta love that scum. They do nothing. They contribute nothing. They give nothing. They cause trouble and stir it up. THAT is what they do. That's why they are scum and bottom feeders, and anyone with half a brain can see them at work.

Maximus is gone. Congrats you scum bottom feeders. Be sure and put THAT little trophy in your legacy as you train your scum bag bottom feeder children to be just like you.

Farkel, who thinks this one might just be edited so as not to convey what it was meant to convey

Farkel as one who COULd edit your post I would not because I agree with you 100%.

People complain about the mods here. They are limiting freedom of speech. They are contoling and want to censor people. yadda yadda yadda.

But I see the role of moderator to be one where I hope to prevent people being hurt and leaving as did Maximus and quite a few others. This needs to be a safe place to come. No one and I mean no one has the right to demand personal info of anyone else who posts here.

People seem to forget that those who have left or are on the verge of leaving or still have one foot in are standing on very shaky ground. It doesn't take a lot sometimes to hurt someone. Some people can shrug it off. Others can't. People also come here not only with a JW past but so many come with others types of abuse in their pasts. Compassion and respect are so important to remember.

It would be great if one day Max could pop in and let us know how how he is. Or heck if someone can print the thread and send it to him.

Either way my hope is that he recovers his strength and finds some measure of joy in this life.

    Lee
