I'm from Minneapolis, the hometown of Target corporation. So OF COURSE I"ll pick Target!

I like the quality of their designer household goods. It seems like they want to give their customers an upscale look at a modest price. Also, Target stores seem more neatly laid out.

Walmart will be the #1 retailer for the forseeable future, due to low prices and heavy-handed corporate tactics. Many people are outraged at Walmart's tactics when it comes to zoning, competition, employee benefits, etc.

When a Walmart comes to a new town, it often generates controversy. I haven't heard the same complaints regarding Target, a good corporate neighbor.

At the two Target stores nearest me, they post the amount that they've given to each of the area's local public schools, and the amounts are in the thousands of dollars. I'm impressed by the way they have always given a percentage of their profits back to the community they are in.

Target. The prices are a bit more but its worth it.

The crowds at Wal Mart are not only huge, but the people are mostly creepy and dirty.

Wal Mart is understaffed...being in there with the people for more than 5 minutes is more than I can bare!

    Target has better clothes.

    Target is not as embarrassing.

    Target has a Starbucks!

    Wal Mart has a McDonalds.

Wal Mart is owned by a religious freak.

Target sells iPods...thats just cool. And a gay guy is their main spokes person and designes good clothes.

    Wal Mart censors their music.

    Target sells iPods!

I have to agree.. being a MN girl myself..

however overtime I have found I do shop at Walmart too. I love the Super Walmarts down in Austin when I visit there... we don't have those yet in LA.. they are fighting them. My bf would prefer I not shop at Walmart so as to boycot them because of the way they have been in the news about treating their employees.. when I go, I go without him.. I can get some things at Walmart that Target has over time taken off their shelves (like crochet cotton)

I have had a few run in with some nasty people at Walmart but shopping for my grandkids you can't beat Walmarts prices.

    True,

I did a shopping list at both stores and saved about 10 dollars at Walmart...

I remember one stupid employee was so rude. One of the kids was looking at a ball, and she told him he wasnt allowed to play with the toys.

Actually she yelled at him. I thought it to be rude, becuase i was standing right next to him, and he wasnt playing with it, we were looking at it to purchase it, anyways we put the ball back and left all of our stuff in the cart at the toy department and left.

Then there was the time when i asked for help with finding something, and the dude said he was busy and to find someone else who wasnt doing anything...

The local walmart was busted for hiring illegal imigrants.

But I have to disagree with the clothing at Target.

There have been a couple of times when i buy the blouses there, and the buttons come off after a couple of washes.

I would rather wait for a sale at the mall than buy clothes at target.

I prefer Target because it seems to have a more relaxed and quiet atmosphere when compared to Walmart. Target?s check-out lines are also must shorter and faster.

I do go to Walmart sometimes, but usually only when I know that Target will not have what I need.
