Oh, Mona, I do hope you decide to blow off the meeting. But hey, if it has already happened, come here and we will support you.

It is none of those darned men's business what your life has been like. They didn't show attention before.

Elders are humans, humans have absolutely no right to judge other humans, the only one who has the right EVER is God and only God. Please do not subject yourself to the humiliation you will without a doubt go through once you are disfellowshipped. Run, Run, run as fast as your little feet will carry you, far away from this sick, disgusting, hurtful religion. This can be a blessing in disguise as you can use it as away to exit a "mind controlling cult". If you have family who will shun you, then you will undoubtedly have further issues with hurt and pain that will come up. Thats where we come in, we are here to listen, support and help you when you need it.

Good Luck, and on a positive note, you said you are very happy with your newboyfriend. Congratulations! You deserve happiness, enjoy him and live it up.

This is the same thing I went through but I was not baptised so they could not disfellowship me...of course that did not stop anyone from shunning me!

If you have not already, do not go see the elders. They will only humiliate you for something you do not feel is wrong. They will make you feel like a bad person for not following THEIR rules. Don't let them hurt your self esteem.

The best thing you can do is make new friends from college, school, work, your boyfriend and the lonliness that you might feel from the jackases who shun you and were never real friends anyyway...that lonliness will soon fade.

Aww Mona sorry you are going through this. I hope if you do go to the meeting that you won't answer any of their intrusive questions. Challenge them to find 2 witnesses to your supposed fornication. It is possible that the 2 of you are just roomates and sharing rent -- why do their holier than thou minds automatically assume the worst? They do not have a right to judge you and they are NOT safe people to confess to. Their goal is to "keep the organization clean" and if that means tossing you out to satan -- they will in a New York second - they are not there to HELP you.

BTW - Welcome to JWD!! Please stick around - there's a lot to learn here and a lot of comfort for what you may be about to go through.
