what i think it is . is that someone allways comes out with totally wacky stuff they said or did. here's one most don't know. in the 1935 wt book ( i forget the name) rutherfraud said the great tribulation was only months away. making you believe it would happen in 1936or37 . i think he used the civil war in spain at the time for his reasoning. john

To understand the presence you have to understand the past.
The recent interest in the two men: maybe some is publishing a book on them soon and is stirring interest? Don't really know but I heard about different projects including the Bible Students working on a history book. I would love to obtain it but I am not sure if the project is still alive. -

Well my guess is that people have been wandering through the archives using the links in the Best of section and some of the first links posted were posts by Farkel, AlanF and JanH. and they each had several threads on Russell and Rutherford.
In 2 and half weeks those 3 Best of threads alone have had over 1300 views so some one must be looking and finding enough info to want more to at least discuss what they have discovered

Rutherford is my hobby. He was the Evil Slave. Without him there would be no JWs. I am writing a black humor novel on the return of the Ancient Worthies. So not sudden interest for me, but I am happy to copy others' work and store it with my own research. Thank you all.

Min if you haven't gone through Farkel's Alan and Jan threads in the Best of section - go do soem reading. They have each posted a lot of info about him and the family and there is more coming. In fact I am working on a whole best of thread for both Russell and Rutherford.
Haven't seen much on Franz though. at least not posted here. - yet - but I am still lurking through the archives so who knows what I will find in there
great posts - absolutely filled with wonderful info in this site

What I would like to see is people getting out of the organization because of the fact, the history, their OWN words. To me, this is more powerful than leaving because someone might've mistreated us or spoken to us in an unloving way.

How about this. Two of Da Judge's sisters married Judges. Of course they were not a "special" Judge like Rutherford. They were of the "real" sort. I also believe that his cousin married another judge, but have not been able to prove the genological link to Rutherford's mother yet. She had the same last name as Joseph's mothers (Strickland) and there were not very many people in the county with that last name. She married a Judge named William Bowen who came to Missouri from Kentucky. Just think, if she is related to J.F. Rutherford's mother and he to some other Bowen's from KY, Bill Bowen could be related to J.F. Rutherford by marriage. This is all speculation, until I can prove the link between Martha Strickland who married Judge Bowen and Leanora Strickland (J.F. Rutherfords mother). However his two older sisters marriage to Judges is factual and provable.
