    Good for you, Scully.

Talk about being able to spot a "fundy" look in clothing now! People who dress like fundamentalist (aka, JW's etc) give me the creeps. Poor things, they look like mind-controlled people. I'm sure you don't want to give that impression at interviews. lol

I am in the closet cleaning mood and have a closet filled with our old meeting clothes. Mine aren't necessarily fundy appearing and I still work in an office where skirts are not unusual. But I have decided to get rid of them. You're my inspiration, Scully.

I still have some of my Polyester meeting clothes hanging in the closet to kill any moths trying to make a home. They won't go near dub clothes!!!!

What am I going to do with all my BOWTIES? I never did like them. And my shiny penny loafers.

I can now relax knowing I will never have to see you in any of those clothes and wonder if you're out to start preaching to me.

to date, I have only 1 wool blazer and 1 pair of stacked heel loafers left from my dub days. I rarely use either one of those items. I got rid of my clothes about 2 years after I left.

It took a very very long time for me to feel "normal" when I wore a skirt or a dress with heels. Everytime I looked at a dress in my closet I had kingdom hall flashbacks, and I resisted wearing those clothes. Now it's ok. Actually, today I wore a dress out for lunch with a friend, and I didn't have a flashback and I didn't feel weird about wearing a dress on Sunday.

very good idea scully. i am sort of a pack rat and have a hrd tiem leting go(called OCD i some circles) I still have all my meeting clothes, but most of them are actually pretty good and i would not be ashamed to wear them out. The ones that were that bad, i have slowly gotten rid of, or given to my cousin, an active jws. .

but now i feel inspired, u know what they say, if u have not worn it in a year, u are not likely to wear it. so it should go. i do not follow that entirley, b/c somethings are classic and worth keeping.(u cna never go wrong with a black skirt, and welll made jackets.)

    What!!!

I finally gave all my meeting clothes the heave-ho!!

I thought you told me you and hubby took turns wearing those clothes and counseling each other using the OM book?

Now what will you do during ice storms?

How long did it take you to relieve yourself of your Kingdom Hall wardrobe? Were there any items that you kept? How much closet space did you gain from getting rid of all those extra meeting clothes?

I now only have a shirt, tie and jacket just in case I need them (definitely not for the meetings). I do not ever want to wear a stinking tie again as long as I live. I own a couple of tuxedos and a butt-load of comfy clothes like jeans and t-shirts. I work in jeans, boots and casual-dress shirts. My closet is still full, but full of clothes I love, not Sunday-goin'-to-meetin' clothes.
