    welcome red!

you may not know this, or maybe you do, but this site is closely monitored by the "governing body" and others at "bethel" and many elders and elderettes throughout the world. so if thats a real picture of you, i'd sugest you loose it, and stick a famous actor or something up there for the time being.

just a word of advice from little olde me in RI.

take care and enjoy your stay.

wow, i cannot believe the support that all you wonderful people have given! all the experiences you guys have given i can relate to so well. especially the ones about feigning sickness to get out of talks/meetings/etc....i think the suggestions about college are excellent, and i am planning on attending a music school... and i fortunately already have a great job (unfortunately my boss is a witness) and am planning on moving out upon turning 18. i can't belive however, the crass disregard for my eternal happiness when you suggested secondary education instead of entering the full time ministry! lol....anyways, all the links and information and advice you shared mean more to me than you know, and i'm ecstatic to be a part of this community. thanks again!!!

    Congratulations, Red So Deep

You have finally begun listening to your heart. You were no doubt nervous about getting on this site in the beginning but you listened to what your heart was telling you and something good came out of it.

I've been fading for many months now and have felt many situations that I was unsure about. At times a little voice would be saying "I'm not used to this, this is wrong I should turn back". Everytime I've pushed myself forward something good as come out of it.

    Welcome Red!

The suggestion of college is the best one, that way you can find a job you like, that pays what you are worth & not ever be dependant. While they are running around saying "Henny Penny, the sky is falling" you can plan for education, research & a good future for yourself! Be strong in your knowledge & be patient, this will pass & you will thrive

Don't let Jehovah's Witnesses fool you. Life on the outside is great. It's good to be free from an organization that tries to control so many aspects of your life. I've been out 38 years and have never regretted it. Not once since have I set foot in a Kingdom Hall.

    WELCOME

Jehovah's Witnesses are not the happiest people on earth............just ask the medical professionals. They have a history of depression and illness and covering up because they are human. Belonging to an organization that tries to control every aspect of your life can be debilitating. I hope you find what you are looking for and lots of friends.

    Welcome Andrew

You did a good job expressing yourself and your experience. I feel so bad for you.

I too, was raised in the truth(tm) but it wasn't till I saw the Dateline Special 2 years ago last may that exposed the WTBS pedophiles that my "rose colored glasses" begin to crack.

It took me almost a year to do the research outside of the JW box...you know...everything on the internet is "apostate"...or so the JW's want you to think that.

I do feel you are right. 11 is way to young to get baptized......heck, Jesus was 29 before he did....

oh well...hang in there. You will find a lot of support here and a lot of kind people that "understand you" and will give you unconditional love.

    hugs,

    Codeblue

I too use to think that most worldly ppl were debased, unhappy and searching. My ignorance was tainted by innocence. I became educated, both secular and religiously, and learned what CRITICAL THINKING meant. Take some philosophy courses at uni, or pychology or anything to relearn how to think for yourself, listen and form opinions. Best thing I ever did.

I am morally upright, happy and not searching, rather listening with an open heart and mind.

    Welcome from Jez
