Things only got better after that.
Funny how that happens, eh?
As you said on another thread, this week...someday, we must meet.
You have a p/m.

General curiosity. I was looking for information on the Eisenhower's and whether or not they actually had been associated with Jehovah's Witnesses. One of my searches was simply for "Jehovah's Witnesses". This site as well as many more popped-up. Naturually being an inquisitive fellow I read what I found. Especially interesting to me were and still are the personal experiences of those who have experienced injustices from the organization. What I read rang with truth and collaborated much of my own expereinces and private thinking. I had for years felt that something was wrong within the WTS and that a spirit of anger and paranoia seemed to pervade the organization. Sites such as this one have confirmed that my assessment is correct and that many, many others feel the same way.

I got my first home computer on....umm...well what date did I register here...that's the day I got my home computer....the first thing I did was type in Jehovah's Witness......I was overwhelmed with the amount of information..
First I found a blog...of course I didn't know that's what it was at the time, I thought I had somehow accidently loged on to someones personal diary. But I read it anyway.. Anyway, this person had written in his blog about having to give a talk on the up-coming Thursday night meeting and how much he was dreading it. On this person blog I found a link that led me to this site.
I stayed up and read and read and read...I would actually get little beads of sweat on my upper lip, my heart would start pounding really hard. But, I couldn't stop reading.
Then, as if my magic, I stoped taking anti-depressants over the next few weeks, after 20+ years of being on them
This board was the best thing that could have happened to me. I was really waiting to die. The meds just got me though each day. I now feel like a whole new person. Thank you Simon and Ang. and everyone else that posts here. You saved my live.

This board.... How did you find it?
....by evolution or by creation?
LOL!
I was provided a link to freeminds.org from another message board. After I was done reading everything on there, I drifted over here from the link on freeminds.
Scully told NOdenial about this site. They had just reconnected because NOdenial did a high school search, and they use to go to the same KH during their teen years.
..yeah......She told NOdenial a person had a technical question he could help out with....He answered it, and I of course, had to read his answer so I started surfing the site.....
Searching the web for JW info...read alot of the threads for some time, before actually posting..
I found it via a link on one of the other ex-JW sites...not sure which one. I was drawn to it because the people on here seemed friendly and genuinely willing and able to help each other. I'm not really into forums where people simply criticise the Witnesses and offer no constructive assistance - I need guidance and help from those who've been in the space I'm in. I got a sense of fellowship too on here. I have always thought about joining a board but was scared because I thought people would try and talk me into going back somehow. How wrong could I have been! I'm really glad I'm here. Thanks everyone.

Had a dream about someone I used to hang out with in the org. Got curious about them and started wondering about other JW's and so did some Googling--found the exjw thing on meetup.com, sent a private e-mail to Brenda Coultier who had been on meetup and was getting kind of dumped on by the bible thumpers on that board. She is the one who gave me the link to this forum. I lurked for about a week(actually I am quite addicted and didn't get a THING done at work that week). Finally posted and then wrote about my experience as a JW.
I guess I could have just said it was Brenda who recommended this site...

Oopsie! Forgot feelings! When I found this site, I was very happy to find so many objective people who shared similar experiences to mine.

Originally, the first time? When the board first opened, we heard NotPerfectYet and SixofNine were posting on an apostate board.. and me and SimpleSally were checking out this board and were they really on there??? OH MY!
