I notice the watchtower assemblies are getting weirded. THe message is changes but oddly to a stupider and more materialistic tone: "Give up your dead end job to sell magazines. Yong people go to school to become skilled professionals that donate their services to us for free. Well off upper middle class JWs thought few and far between you can donate not only to the watchtower, but should start donating directly to the poineers and bethelites."

I am mockingly paraphrasing a talk from our assembly this year.

Hello Namasti and Eric, I just wanted to give you a little info sorry everybody for the quick side step I will get back to topic in a minute.

There was a big article last year in the KM about cutting all but the most necessary contact with df'd da'd family members. Or was it end of 2003, (someone help me out here?) The point is that they are more militant than ever about keeping the rank and file away from family who have broken free. You can tell that they feel the draft of people leaving, and they're using fear to keep people in line (as always). I hope that your family doesn't listen to this and keeps seeing you. Welcome to the board, btw, both of you.

Back on topic, I am much interested to hear what is coming up on that program. It really, really scares me to know that if the day came when they started handing out the 'special' kool-aid that my relatives wouldn't even stop to ask the flavor, they'd just drink it and wait on jehovah for salvation.

Scares the bejesus out of me.

2002 Geez was it really that long ago? It figures. That was when my sister cut off all contact with me, and my child because I wouldn't let her just use me as a drive-thru to pick up my kid...thanks for the scan. That should be used as an anti-recruitment tool, that's for sure...

I very clearly remember this KM. It came out I belive in August of 2002. The very month my wife and I quit the JW's. Now that I re-read it...if this doesn't prove to people that the JW's are a cult, then I don't know what will.

There are so many deceptive and mind-controlling points in here, I wouldn't know where to begin. Imagine someone telling you that you can no longer talk to a family member cause they didn't do things the J-dub way. It kills me to think of the arrogance of Jehovah's Witnesses in believing they interpret the bible correctly and to shun anyone who used to think as they do, but decides not to any longer.

Imagine Jesus shunning people while walking down the street. And they say they follow Christ's example...how sad and pathetic!!
