    Brenda,

Now. The question I have been pondering lately about the soul is this: Today we have just over 6 billion people on this earth, more people than ever before in earths history. 6 billion souls, if you will. Today, there are probably more people alive than have ever lived and died. So, where have all the "new" souls come from?

Of course you must know that the beleif that man has a invisible soul is just a beleif,,with no fact to substansiate it. So right from the get-go we are proceeding from a flimzy base or a very big assumption if you will. It is like saying:

"All my friends tell me the moon is made of pale green cheese,, and I estimate that it would take 42,000,000,000,000,000 cows 1,000,000 years to produce enough milk,, what would be the closest planet all those cow could live on that would supply all the grass for these cows??

If there are more people alive today than have ever lived and died, then we are out of recycled souls, and have been for some time. This could be a real flaw in the concept of reincarnation. Or, as usual, I am too limited in my thinking.
I agree with the last thing you stated "too limited in thinking",, and add: based on a false premise.

ROFLMAO at Gumby! Cosmic birds and bees huh? I shoulda though of that!

Thanx Satanus for the two ... (brummie dots) ... theories. Yes, I realize nothing at this level is provable nor disprovable. However, I believe in multiple lives now because of experiences I've had... waking dreams, or visions if you will. Also a flash experience with another person whom I have never met before (on this earthwalk). Can I repeat these experiences and can these repeated experiences be documented by another at the time? No. But they were enough to make this cynic believe.

BTW, the old soul split off sounds sorta like "The Butcher's Wife" movie and the split-aparts, or soul mates. I believe soul mates are a different idea all together... more like karmic redeux to get it right.

I have other questions and theories based on current known science. I was up late last night with them spinning in my head.... maybe another thread after Christmas when there are others for input.

    Hugs to ya'll

    Bren

Frankie, believe it or not, that last statement was made because of my association with you . You have helped me to further open my mind to the universe(s). However, "false premise" of reincarnation cannot be proved nor disproved. As I said in me immediate previous post, I have reasons for believing in reincarnation due to my experiences on this earthwalk.

Hugs and have a wonderful holiday!

    Brenda,

    Back to your original question:

"If" reincarnation were true,,and and souls are immortal and recycled then instead of just including earth why not include life on all other planets in the universe. Lets also not leave out the possiblity of an infinite number of universes that also have life in them. Not to mention that reincarnation is supposed to cross the species boundary,,so 6 billion humans is not very significant amount, when compared to the insect population,,not to mention plants, viruses, bacteria, and other life forms that may not be carbon based which may also have souls.

    Happy holidays

What exactly is your question, objection, or whatever?

    Satan,

I have no question, I was trying to give an answer to Brenda's question on the premises of reincarnation and more people alive today than have ever lived and died, she asked where would the souls come from? In other words would news souls need to be created to meet the needs of the present population of 6 billion.

    Brenda asked:

Today we have just over 6 billion people on this earth, more people than ever before in earths history. 6 billion souls, if you will. Today, there are probably more people alive than have ever lived and died. So, where have all the "new" souls come from? So I gave other possiblities,,that would not call for making "new" souls to meet the currant population explosion.

    I see. That's why i didn't understand it.

In this scenario, of spirits being continuously born, they could start at the bug or bacteria level, and work their way up as they learn to manage the rigors of animal bodies, or just enjoy the ride. Human, of course is the highest animal. Once a spirit has experienced all that it wants, it could decide not to incarnate anymore. There could be a large proportion that never do.
