So who do you think they'll pick on when they've eliminated all of us fringe jw's,when there's nobody left to condemn but each other? That is when the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth will start and the WTS starts to self-destruct,when these super-fine apostles will be spending so much time hating one another and trying to bring the other guy down...all the while promoting their crap about how they love one another and how happy they are.The veil is starting to fall, and fast.

On the flip side, they are not consistant with their reproofs.

There was a MS in our hall that had anger issues. He got into 2 fights at work that the elders found out about and they came to his house and talked to him and thats it.

He used to beat his son terribly on the legs and arms neck etc.The mother called the elders over about it no less than 5 times.Nothing happened.

All that did was make him beat me worse.

If your friend is beginning to say that 'they're only around for Jehovah and not the people' then it shows there's some activity going on in his little grey cells and perhaps he won't be at the KH for too much longer. Sometimes it takes fiascos like this to start people thinking seriously about what the hell they doing in a crackpot organization.

It will be interesting to find out if he and his wife are still JWs this time next year.

My hope is that they will see the "lite".

That's so sickening and troubling, ko38. I'm really sorry to hear this. Has he ever improved in his anger management, and has he ever apologized to you yet?

ko: sorry that happened. that bites. The elders probably felt he was just bringing you up with godly discipline. Yet they df'ed someone for attending a wedding for an inactive person? They checked their commonsense at the door of the "back room" didn't they?

I havent spoken to the man but once in 2 years.I only went to see him the one time because the elders in my cong said it was keeping me away from the blessings of Jehovah. And he was in the hospital.

Maybe if they had done something,it wouldve made him realise he had a problem.

You're so right ko - oh my oh my, how ridiculous the organization is and non-userfriendly too.

    Odrade -

They checked their commonsense at the door of the "back room" didn't they?
    Right on as usual.

The "rules" are applied anyway the C.O. wants them to be. I'm surprized at anyone who's an ex-elder who doesn't know this.

I've seen this nonsense dozens of times. If they don't like you, they'll stretch any rule to get rid of you.

Conversely, they'll overlook mountains of wrongdoing if they really like you. Generous personal contributions to the C.O.

    - like golf games, fancy restaurants, help, too. How do think the same guys get assembly parts, over and over again?
