    Eman ,

I saw that over in the jokes thread that Simon posted and thought it was funny. Glad to see it over here as I think this thread could use the infusion of humor. However, obviously it's impossible to please all of the people all of the time; where I might find something funny, someone else may find it offensive...c'est la vie. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't think that you posted it in anything besides a spirit of humor.

I was talking with a friend of mine who has been a therapist for 23 years...she made the comment that when we are totally accepting of ourselves, we rarely have need of feeling defensive or concerned about what others think or say about us (barring our loved ones, of course) and I think that is true here...perhaps something we can all examine a bit. Just a suggestion.

    Peace,
    Dana

I don't know G, I guess it it will help me make friends and influence people I can give it a try.
There certainly are a lot of good examples for me to try and follow here.

I'll make you a deal, if you become the Board-Bitch I'll see what I can do about the asshole thing.
It will be like the good old days on Philia. You and me kicking up our sarcasm to a whole new level to entertaining the troops. Unfortunately I have grown to like you and respect your thoughts to much to get too out of hand, but I can learn to fake it just like you do when your .....you know, doing it.

    Your such a chick sometimes!

    Dave,

I don't want to backslide into old personas, nor do I want you to fake it. And besides--I think I would have a lot of competition for the title of "Board-Bitch."

I just can't resist a little friendly jab once in awhile.

You're such a [rhymes with chick] sometimes!

    Fodeja,

My crybaby whiney-ass opinion is as follows:

I know his posting of the picture was made with a sense of humor. So was mine. Humor is a subjective thing. A lot of it depends on your perspective and the context in which the humor is used.

I guess my level of humor and sarcasm has shot right over your head, I tend to have that problem sometimes. I'm working on it and I appreciate your straight forwardness in pointing out I had failed in getting my humor across. Out of most of the posts in this thread I have to say I have agreed with pretty much most of what you have said in yours. You make good points and have stated close to the same thing I have but is a simpler and easier manner to understand. Your response to me is a bit surprising but I guess you just can't win them all, can ya.

I'm not a beer drinker but I could handle a good scotch. Thanks for your comment, I will try and adjust my humor and sarcasm accordingly.

I am an American! And I hate American policies, they really stink. What you percieve is a right in America, really is not. I know I have been there, I have been denied the basic human rights our forefathers fought for. I have actually been in a courtroom, with representation denied. I have been told that I make too much money for my kids to have health insurance, at a lower rate. I have been denied help with my childcare, and housing, because I own a vehicle. I have been put in jail because I missed a traffic court appearance, forever on my record now.

If you are American, I challenge you to see how many basic freedoms you really have. I challenge you to tell me what you love about this country.

I personally love the beauty of where I live. But I have seen ugly parts as well. I love the thought that I can vote for an official that is representing(thanks bigboi) me, and my family. But I hate when the one I want is not pickedI love that I can teach my children, how it should be, and hate when I show them how it really is. I love that there is tax breaks for lower income families, at the end of the year most get a large payment from the goverment(well other peoples taxes) I love that I can go anywhere in America and not have to answer to anyone.I hate that there are different laws, and it is hard to know what they are when traveling. I love that I have a PC and can find out how other people live in other parts of the world. I have many friends now, from different countries, what a thrill that is.

Anyway, I don't know the reason for this post. Just wanted to share a little

Ah, glad to read that - don't adjust your humour, I'll just take _nothing_ you say seriously from now on, just to stay on the safe side
