The UK Govt upped it's initial pledge of £15,000,000 to £50,000,000 yesterday.

Germany raised our governmental amount of instant help to 20,000,000 EUR.
Several Relief Organizations speak of a tremendous willingness to donate. One organization states they received on Wednesday almost the total amount of donations of the year 2003.

Even Bangladesh, one of the poorest countries in the world, send a helicopter and a plane with things.

Ya know- with all of what everyone around the world is pledging and giving and will continue to- in direct $$ and practical equipment and people and medical supplies- we as a world might be able to actually help them fix this. We cannot raise the dead but we can help them rebuild and heal.

The BBC has just said that there is an unsubstansiated report that the US has upped it's contribution to £180,000,000.

I'm hearing the same thing Eman ! 350 million ! That is not counting the private donations. Well, they said the 35 million was just an initial amount until they could make assessments of what was needed.
WOWWhen I pictured the sea sucking out I never EVER realized it was on such a huge expanse. Nor did I realize the extent of the speed of the water....devestating
