    What I don't understand, is why it's taking so long for the relief supplies to be distributed to these poor souls........one woman said she hadn't had any water since last Sunday. Anyone know what the hell the hold up is??

    Mary, I figure it has to be transportation that is holding up relief efforts. Bridges were washed away, too.

    By the way, if nations are falling over themselves to prove they are not "stingy" at a time like this, I say, the more the merrier. Perhaps our civilization has turned the corner when a government ingratiates itself to its' people not by how many wars it wins, but by how many nations it helps.

    I am not so sure that who's pledged what is the real issue here.

    I think the facts and figures go to prove that the majority of people are basically decent and good. If anything good at all has come of the terrible event, it is that it has united the world in grief and concern. It has shown people can dig deep if necessary.
