I thought it was an earthquake that caused it?

we do. and nothing and nobody else.
the word "worship" is an old english world, and examples of its use as far back the ninth century are extant. its root word is "worth" with the suffix "ship", itself related to the verb "shape" - think about this carefully folks - , being added.
if an individual were to think a being's worth to be less than that of a row of beans, then that individual would be unlikely to go about ritualistically celebrating this small measure if worth. if all individuals were likewise to hold this being in very low esteem, then nobody would 'shape it worth', that is to say they would not worship it.
it could then bleat all day and night about rights and we could all point and laugh.

Ave Satane (have you seen the Omen?),
The first question that needs to be asked is "what makes you think that God is behind everything." This is just me thinking, but some people think that God is behind every single thing. I don't. I think that sometimes stuff just happens. Scientifically, an earthquake in the Indian Ocean caused the tsunami. The deaths were so high because there is no tsunami warning system for the Indian Ocean as there is for the Pacific Ocean.
I do not know why God allowed this to happen. Humanity does not have answers for everything and we never will. However, it does not follow that "ignorance is bliss" as I'm sure that this would be brought up. One should always try to strive for new ways of thinking and doing things.
If you don't understand why God allowed this to happend why don't you ask Him? Maybe he will tell you what he has not told someone else. Personally, on the issue of worship, I aspire to take and heed this song from the Liturgy of St. James (5th Century):
Let all mortal flesh keep silence / And with fear and trembling stand / Ponder nothing earthly-minded / for with blessings in his hand / Christ our God to earth decendeth / Our full homage to demand.

Not according to the news I just heard Brummie. Now the U.S. is being blamed by the East. We targeted them. Gumby
I know gumby :( I had it at all evening at work and hit boiling point over the stupidity of people who just need to blame the USA for everything! There have been over 50 earthquakes this week alone but that one was the USA fault! ~~~rolls eyes~~~ .

Uh, 77 pardons. I was led to believe that you felt differently by what you pasted previously: see below ...
This is He who hath "poised with three fingers the bulk of the earth." (Is. 40:12).
All beings are in His power; He disposes of them as He wills. It is He who propels the heavenly bodies, commands the winds, changes the seasons, guides the elements, distributes the waters, controls the stars, creates all things;

Sorry, i haven't seen that movie, but i saw stigmata.
Satanus,
I said that was what I thinking. For me, thinking does not always equal belief and my personal beliefs are very flexible.
PS: I brought up "the Omen" because the conductor for that movie wrote an entire score for a black mass. It had "Ave Satani," which was meant to be a play on "Ave Maria."
Well, who knows, but in April 1997, then-Defense Secretary William Cohen was speaking at a terrorism conference at the University of Georgia. In the course of answering a question, he said the following:
Others are engaging even in an eco- type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves.
So there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations. It's real, and that's the reason why we have to intensify our efforts,
