Holly,
You said you had a group of friends before you began studying? I'd call them up and invite them back into your life. You may get a little ribbing, but I'm relatively certain they'd love to have you back. You seem like a very nice person.

It is so horrible to open a beautiful present , rip the paper and find out the gift inside wasn't what you wanted.
Do you
cry
laugh
pretend it was what you wanted all along?
Imagine what your children would feel like - as I DID - upon discovering this spiritual game of pass the parcel played by this cult for 130 YEARS was just one lyer of newspaper wrapped round the next with nothing inside worth waiting for...
I went through the chronologies the days of years or years of seconds ( meetings sure feel like years of prophetic seconds : nothing is going to happen for at least two hours ) in the prophecy books, only to see them all changed at the stroke of a pen when I was in my 20 s.
All I got was ostracism, as an apostate. I am Bird Food now.

Fairchild - yes, curiousity is a strange thing - pandoras box, adams apple (or whatever other fruit it was, as the bible doesnt specify). Thats exactly what happened, got more and more drawn to have a wee lookie..........................
Glad you said Jehova still wants me. thats been my biggest worry, rejecting his organisation (at least according to them). in the end, they rejected me ironically.
SO GOOD TO BE ON HERE THOUGH WITH ALL YOU FINE PEOPLE
i did that as gently as possible. even offered to show her this site. might as well of offered to call up demons...........................oh well.........
Well they all know ANY website is apostate and they are forbidden from looking at it.
The funny part is the regular 6:00 news on cable etc. They have been warned that SATAN controls all that is said. If somthing comes on that is critical of them....shut it off....It's Satan talking LOL
Holly: Don't despair about the JWs dropping your "study.". This is a bit like being passed over in the parking lot by Ted Bundy (a kind of American Jack the Ripper). You are extremely lucky.
Holly,
As you can tell---everyone is RELIEVED that this has happened to you! We're so GLAD that you scrambled out from under the fence when you did. As you observed, when the questions got tough-the tough got going. (And blame it on YOU that they couldn't answer your questions! HAH!)
I sure wish that I had been dumped by them before I made the mistake of being baptized, it would have saved a world of heartbreak for me.
Take a deep breath and go on with a normal life! You deserve it!
hugs,
Annie
Hi Holly, I noticed you said something about checking out another religion. If the Bible is in fact true, then you don't need a religion in order to please God. 1st John 2:27 makes this clear.
BTW, welcome to the forum.
Holly,
She decided you were just having too much fun at her expense and time. You were not going to fall into line and be submissive to the great and powerful OZ of the Watchtower Society, so she dumped you. LOL I know I helped a fellow who was studying in India with the JW's and they dumped him too. They said he asked too many questions. LOL

anyway, how DARE that proud bitch say "You're heart is not in the right condition...". Is she God? Can she judge hearts?
What a haughty proud self-righteous group of people the JW's are.......Satan must be very proud of his children.

Holly, she will return. It is becomining increasingly difficult to attract people to this cult (High control group with top down power structure). The people that are generally giving them the time of day are so deeply disturbed or in personal crises and those that have some normality but yet seem interested are rarer than gold. You also were a feather in her cap, bragging rights come with having studies and even better those who attend meetings. Those who are attracted and stay, in this information age, have a vulnerability to artificial security and conformist acceptance, usually from a sense of low self esteme or recent trauma. We used to hope that our former studies whould have a terrible thing happen in their life so as to draw them back. Sick, but we really never asked ourselves why it often worked that way. Anyway, expect that she will return with a present or article, "I was just thinking of you...." The process of intigration into the cult takes a couple years, longer than the more easily identified controling groups. The affection and companionship is offered and withheld in increments to reward behavior deemed progressive. At the same time you have been encourage to question and limit your association with nonJWs. Narkissos mentioned the guilt manuever that turned the tables on you, making YOU and your bad heart the reason you did not progress. In reality it is your concerns about them and the policies of the organization that wisely moved you to ask questions and investigate. Doubts are sins in official JW doctrine, therefore, they can not allow their own minds to engage in any real research nor even entertain the idea that the leaders that are dictating doctrine and policy are anything other than God's spokeman. This would lead to doubt and they are then deemed weak sinners.
Consider carefully your next steps. I suspect that you are seeking something that really does not exist. There does not exist any group that has an inside track to truth. There are no spiritual paradises. People who love you do so because of who you are not because of your membership into a secretive/ellitist society. Please do some research on identifying cults. The behavior generally follows a definite pattern, though each groups emphasizes different aspects.
Best wishes.
