Wow, I can't believe the hypocrisy! You ask too many questions, so I won't study with you?? And just where does she expect you to get the so-called "Bible based" answers if the JWs won't study with you???? Try moving in two directions at once, you'll have more success then trying to make sense of that crap.

Congratulations, Holly, for not letting a small minded, controlling group take over your life. Breathe a sigh of relief that you are free to think, feel and do as YOU believe God wants, not as some washed up old man in New York tells you.

Happyout - wishing she had dodged the same bullet

Sorry they dumped you, just for asking a few questions. They really don't want you if you are a curious sort of person. Can you imagine if you would have asked questions after you were baptised?

Don't feel bad they don't want me either Oh darn.

Keep searching, you will find some place that will take you just the way you are. And God still loves you.

It's funny how the Watchtower paints Apostates?. This woman (I'm quite certain) has never visited a website such as this, has never read anything critical of JW's, so when she speaks of these things it is pure WacoTower programming kicking in. She is simply parroting the Borg's endless Warnings? about Apostates? that she has heard over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Aw. No fair! I want to be dumped too!

Questions need to be answered. I'm glad you realised that you don't need to accept the answers they give you as being correct and that you have the ability to form them on your own.

Good thing you've asked them now and didn't wait until you were baptised to ask them, as that would lead to shunning and being labeled an apostate.

I'm sorry you are saddened. You just got a taste of what it would be like if you got baptised and failed to please them.

the worst of it is. id actually got to know this woman quiet well. id been away with her and some of her friends and family. id gotten to know a lot of people i actually liked. and a lot of the friends i had before i stopped mixing with. and now she doesnt want to see me.

She is obeying. The witnesses are instructed to discontinue studies with those who do not "progress spiritually" which means those who do not swallow it 'hook, line and sinker'. But at least you can see her interest in you (theocratic love) is conditional upon your acceptance and comformity.

Keep in mind, as Panda said, you and JWD scare her. She hasn't seen what you have seen so and is afraid to look. She is even afraid you may truly have unanswerable questions. We as jws used to spew out those patent answers like robots but in our own heart we wondered, fearfully, if we weren't sticking our heads in the sand.

Hang on girl. You will find what you are looking for.

I understand the disappointment at seeing the Witness people reject me because I ask questions. Questions they told me I could ask of them. I had heard stories about Witnesses shutting out people who asked questions but I was still sad when they did it to me because it proved their critics right. I had hoped the Witness people would come out with good answers for me. Instead they fell apart like a two dollar suitcase in the rain at the basic questions. I never got to ask my good questions.

This is not a religion that is based on assumptions, this is a group that ONLY has assumptions. They can not stand even a casual investigation and they know it. The group leaders teach the Witness people to beware of people asking questions. Questioning is the mark of an apostate.

Questioning to me, is the mark of a rational person.

Saying something nice to you: You went into this with your eyes wide open. Congratulations, your vision is 20:20 Not only is your vision good, so is your sense of smell. You have a discriminating mind which will serve you well and a heart that will be open and accepting of others.

It is refreshing to see someone avoid the train wreck that so many didn't.

Now, with this good vision you obviously have, you will see a wonderful world filled with people who will accept YOU for what you are. Would god do anything less?

    My best to you,

(Holly) Glad you said Jehova still wants me. thats been my biggest worry, rejecting his organisation (at least according to them). in the end, they rejected me ironically.

I felt a lot closer to Jehovah BEFORE I started studying with JW's. I am hoping that quitting my bible study will once again draw me close to Him, the way it used to be.

It are the dates 1914, 1975 and 607 BCE I stumbled on. Once I had stumbled so much that I had fallen down on my face, I looked up and saw 'this generation', along with a lot of poor souls who got disfellowshipped. Let's take the bible serious.. "All things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must likewise do to them; this, in fact, is what the Law and the Prophets mean". Personally, I don't see where shunning fits into this picture. Remember.... by their fruits.. etc..

Holly, congrats. This is a good experience. It really is. Notice how frightened and defensive JWs get when you challenge their beliefs. They can't support them in the face of contrary evidence, so they run. If you had these doubts as a baptized Witness right now, you would be classified as the most vile sort of human imaginable, an apostate. Apostates are people who listen to their consciences. The JWs are an organization with their priorities intensely out of whack. What you got is a blessing in disguise.

I hope you stick around here. You'll find a lot of friendly people and a lot to learn.
