LOL love this thread.
My mom used to say out loud at the start of each song, "dirge number 1." or whatever the number was. She hated the songs! There were a couple that I would always get stuck in my head, drove me nuts.
We knew the guy who did the musical score and wrote a lot of the songs, he is responsible for when they redid the songbook back in the 70's or 80's. He was a fabulous pianist, but the songs were just too darn slow and funarial.

lol That first one is actually the one that would get stuck in my head, and I actually found myself trying to find it on the net last month. I think it was the catchiest one they had.

Side note, sorry for the double post,
but when I was a kid, I thought that song said "kiss the sun" I could never figure out why Jah would want us to kiss the sun, wouldn't that hurt?? Also, everytime I see Sunkist oranges, I think of that darn song! ahhhh.

I remember a large group of JW youths being publicly reproved for linking arms on a bowling night out and Singing/shouting the song 'We're Jehovah's Witnesses' all around the bowling car park.

In many words to the songs, I can see so much of blatant cultish type mentality. It speaks volumes. A little frightening.

Ive never been to church but I bet id have more chance of knowing the hymms than the Kingdom songs
I remember going to centre parcs, and kids were singing " we are JW" or rather shouting when they were going down the rapids. Oh happy days!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes Vittvin song 15, wasn't that the song entitle "Life without End? and yes it is a nice song. I liked it too.
Does anyone remember from the green song book. song 54 'Forward Theocratic Warriors" I know it was later published in the large brown song book when it was determined that these songs did not in anyway sound or have Bablyon the GReats music or melody. Some of the older songs where parts of great composers music.

I do have to admitt that the Kingdom Melodies were beautiful the different medlies. I think they had some very strong emotional surges in them. I do miss them. But nothing else well except for the friends I had and family but other than that nothing.
