    The org. has acknowledged all your points ... I can't see the problem ... they say to report it.

    No, they don't say to report it. Where did you get the impression that they said to report it?

    Where did you get the idea that they were to contact Legal via letter?

    And again, if they acknowledge that CHILD ABUSE IS A CRIME, then why don't they tell the elders to contact the police? The only mention of police is:

    1) Don't suggest that the victim should not contact the police. (The elders aren't to do so, it is up to the victim)

    2) If asked, acknowledge that such contact is a "personal decision".

    They never even hint that it should be reported, they only point out that victims should not be told not to do so.

    I've got plenty to guess at here -- the way the elders would talk to the victim, the couched warning in the term "personal decision" -- but I'm not putting guesses in my comments. Please don't guess what the legal department would say, how they would be contacted, etc, etc. Let's stick to verifiable facts.

    As an aside - I have printed out all of AFIN's posts to review them with the PO in our congregation. Perhaps he can shed some light on the claim that the society would give people like AFIN, who obviously cannot adequately defend Jehovah's organization, permisson to fraternize with apostates on such a forum.

    The problem with all of this, just like the lack of scriptures requested, is that there is no support of JW reality with print (very convenient). I personally have heard and been told and taken notes on talks that contained statements about not bringing legal action against a "brother or sister" as it would cast a bad light on Jehovah's name in public, it would be better to deal with any personal inconvenience for sake of the good of Jehovahs Organization. That is a fact, I heard it myself more than once. I guess it was just a coincidence the first time I remember it was the same time period my dad was running around with a twelve year old while the elders were telling my mom she had no grounds to divorce him since there were no witnesses....besides me and my younger brother aged 9 and 5 an half the town we lived in.

    Denial of the problem insults those of us that lived it, we are not wrong, we know the real truth because we were there, you know only what you are told.

    Steve ... I hate to admit that I am not computer savvy enough to know how to cut, paste or highlight. So I guess we can all just keep scrolling up to your post.

    How do you expect me to give you an answer to your situation? If there was anything in my power to undo your painful past, I would do it, but I will wait on Jehovah to do that.

    I don't think we should put this burden on Jehovah. We ought to be able to take the right action and involve the secular authorities immediatly.

    The wbts and the elders do not need to be involved at all. Why do you think they want to? What really are they capable of doing in such a situation? They can not investigate. They don't have the training or the authority. They can not try the perp or put them in prison.

    Their only purpose in involving the wbts legal desk is to conceal what is going on in what is supposed to be gods organization and to cover their liabilities- "read money".

    If this had been reported years ago when the perp started, my girl and who knows how many others would have been spared this filthy elders fondling their private parts.

    Again the wbts claims to be the only channel through which Jehovah guides the jw's and the wbts has

    Gods blessing and guidance.

    This is nothing short of slandering Jehovah.

    Oh...the best part I forgot about this one...he married the girl and I have a brother and sister that are young enough that they had to be conceived in the time period my mother was told she had no grounds. Did she ever get even an acknowledgement of the truth? We all know the answer to that one. Oh yea...dad got reinstated less than a month after marrying the same girl...she had just turned 18 and was pregnant...he was 46.

    The point is the same. It's been stated over and over, yet you won't acknowledge it. OldSoul sent me a pm with these well spoken words:

    "Allowing someone to report it to the police is not the same as instructing them to do so. Allowing them to do so after reporting it to the legal desk is not the same as encouraging them to take that step first."

    You agree the police should be contacted. The Society feels they *could* be contacted. Why are you able to see the need for quick legal action, but they aren't?

    My above admisson to what? I haven't said anything here that I haven't already said to my PO, his wife (my conductor), my MIL, and my husband. Why else would I be willing to print this thread to show it to them (hello!)? I have nothing to hide. I don't play games. They take me as I am, or they don't take me at all. And at this point the reaction is that they are still convinced I will "see the light". They know that all I have ever wanted is the truth of what Jehovah expects of us, nothing more, nothing less. I'm still waiting for my answers ...
