Scar tissue maybe? Well I shouldn't make a diagnosis, you're the expert not me.

    Never had a general anaesthetic

I have and it's okay. Just make sure the anesthesiologist's hands don't shake, his eyes aren't bloodshot and and he can walk a straight line. Bonus points if you can find a way to make them give you morphine.

    mmmmmm .... morphine.

Scooby... they do carpal tunnel surgery here all the time under local anaesthetic rather than general... is there any way you can have your ganglion done that way? It will spare you all the horrible side effects of the GA - nausea, vomiting, needing a foley catheter, and save you from needing to spend the night in hospital, etc etc.

Hope it goes well for you! (and hope it doesn't incapacitate your beer-drinking finger! )

    Love, Scully

Good luck with it. And don't worry about the general anaesthesia, when I had my wisdom teeth out, I had to get that done. But the anaesthesiologist was really good (private Cdn. clinic, not public), so when I woke up I felt really good. Until the pain killers they gave through the needle wore off and I had to start popping Tylenol with Codeine after about an hour. Plus my mom had an operation like that one and it all went pretty easily (she had to get it done through a plastic surgeon too).

    Hear! Hear!

(Irishmen apparently drink Jamesson 12-year from beer steins ... who knew?)

Good luck be with you, even though you're not Irish!

    mmmmmm .... morphine.

Hey Big Tex.................I HEAR ya! Ten years ago I slipped on some wet grass and crushed my leg. Double fractures and stuff. When I went in to have the rods, nuts and screws put in......(ya oughta see my X-ray!) they let me have a morphine dispenser---all for myself, that I could hit any time the pain got too bad to deal with.

The day I was discharged, the nurse said I still had some morphine left, and would I like a dose of it for the road---(bless her heart) and of course I said yes! That stuff is great, haha!

I never had any nausea or side effects from anasthesia and I've had several surgeries. ( I have a really touchy stomach, too) I HAVE gotten sick on other medications, but never from general anasthesia.
