I'm honestly not trying to entrap you. Who cares who is right or wrong here?
Surely we're just discussing an ancient story?

I believe that all things work together for the good of those who love God,those whom he has called according to his plan.

All things, no random molecules, everything. GOD is responsible!!!!!

None of us are getting out of this alive.

    Jez:
I just think it's an ancient story, complete with parallels in other cultures. I don't think it's bullsh*t, I think it's really interesting. I also love Greek mythology
The point I was trying to get you to think about was this:

Prove to me that man (like any other animal) wasn't going to grow old and physically die like every other observable creature!

In other words, if animals and man have always died, what is the story actually talking about?
Is it really talking about how man came to die physically, or is it talking about some other kind of death?

If it's talking metaphorically about a "spiritual death", then how do we make our way back? Is it difficult or easy? Does it look fearful, and is it really as fearful as it looks?

I'm impressed that you bothered to look up an older post. Not many bother their asses to do that kind of research. Kudo's to you

Furiously pounding unwritten meaning into shallow ancient stories is a exercize in not-letting-go, imo.

I don't know. The STORY seems to indicate that they did not catch him by surprise because he already had a contingency plan ready to go. Which tree? The tree of knowledge or the tree of life?

The tree of "good and evil" ....So, you'll agree that they, A&E were predisposed to sin. Further, why would God allow satan to foil a chioce given to man, and God already knowing the outcome?

Maybe both the tree of knowledge was the test, if they passed after a certain number of years, they got to eat from the tree of life ..........

Would passing this test turn God into a spectator?

Cherished beliefs that have no evidential foundation. The everyday insanity of the everyman.

IF the creator of the universe IS the bible god, then yes, he is an ass.

But I don't think that the Bibble god is the creator, or even a good aproximation.

Many of you are sounding like apostates, and not the nice way that you feel proud of.Im not trying to judge ,but I wish there was more rationale versus emotion in some of your judgements or interpretations of the bible.
