On the contrary, Leo, it seems to me that the core doctrines you cite are the ``bait" to lure in the unwary; mindless obedience to the FDS is left to the fine print in the baptismal contract.
The Sneaky Governing Body and How They Steer a DF'ing Committee

I know the Governing Body sent out letter on not letting congregation records fall into the hands of the law and how to stall while dealing with the authorities.
If someone needed this in a court case to prove the Governing Body's direct hand in DF'ng maybe they could supeana the Waterbury east records. Charles Bradshaw of Prospect CT was the city overseer for many years and sent to our congregation and made PO right away when dealing with this matter and I'm sure there is a lot that he knows that could be very damaging to the Governing Body.

One thing that the GB must worry about constantly is that if CO and PO turn against the them they could supply lot of evidence in a court of law to incriminate the Governing Body in some seriously underhanded and unethical behaviour.

...the real defining creed of Jehovah's Witnesses is the F&DS "We are God's organization/prophet/mouthpiece" crap that new converts do not learn until they're already partly committed....
Ain't that the truth! I knew of someone who was entertaining thoughts about the JWs and I simply advised them to watch out for religions that equate loyalty to their organization with loyalty to God. Little did I know that this person continued studying for months after that. When finally shown by another "opposer" that this indeed was the case with the JWs, this person was totally surprised and disenchanted. She had no clue!

A brother Cirancko(I don't know the spelling) was a CO that got promoted to DO and sent to the Waterbury congregation as a special visit to help us elders deal with this matter. He pulled me aside at a circut assembly about six months after his first visit to ask me some questions about the situation(the person was not df'd yet) and tell me this" Make sure that when you move to form a committee that you have every nail in his coffin because if you move on him without enough evidence you won't get a second chance". He wanted to make sure we df'd him and had an open and shut case.
This brother was soon afterwards called to bethel to some important position.

I love quoting this howler, because it really sums it all up:
*** w59 5/1 p. 269 Attain Completeness in the New World Society ***
In the same way Christ, the Head, employs the organization that is his body to carry out his assigned work. His orders reach the whole of the organization on earth through the governing body, and on down through the Branches to the congregations.?1 Cor. 12:12-18; Matt. 24:45-47. To hold to the headship of Christ, it is therefore necessary to obey the organization that he is personally directing. Doing what the organization says is to do what he says. Resisting the organization is to resist him.

So very true.

Leo,
I find the 1959 WT quote kind of strange because up until 1974 they really didn't have a fully functioning Governing Body. The president(knorr) along with the vice president(franz) had final say with a subserviant figure head GB.

I think in those days the GB was a term for the "board of directors" of the WTS. Maybe someone might know more...
