The Sneaky Governing Body and How They Steer a DF'ing Committee

  Room 215, I seem to remember when getting baptized in 1967 that those two questions sounded very similair. So I went to the CD rom and found the original questions for baptism

  (1)The first question is: Have you recognized yourself before Jehovah God as a sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him, the Father, through his Son Jesus Christ?

  (2) The second question is: On the basis of this faith in God and in his provision for salvation, have you dedicated yourself unreservedly to God to do his will henceforth as he reveals it to you through Jesus Christ and through the Bible under the enlightening power of the holy spirit?

  In 1973 there was a change in the question one:

  (1) Have you repented of your sins and turned around, recognizing yourself before Jehovah God as a condemned sinner who needs salvation, and have you acknowledged to him that this salvation proceeds from him, the Father, through his Son Jesus Christ?

  (2) On the basis of this faith in God and in his provision for salvation, have you dedicated yourself unreservedly to God to do his will henceforth as he reveals it to you through Jesus Christ and through the Bible under the enlightening power of the holy spirit?

  Do these questions sound similar to the ones asked by the elders from years ago?

  I have heard "Cirenko" (spelling) speak when he was a DO. He seemed nice on the platform but thats all a front to how they are in real life or when they think they have an apostate on their hands. They turn into a wolf real quick. Tor

  Wouldn't these questions be in the elders-only book? I think it's called "Paying Attention to the Flock". Does anyone have that book? What does it say?

  Assume for a minute that you are having one of those meetings with two or three elders. Among the questions they ask: Do you accept Jehovah's witnesses to be 'God's spirit directed mouthpiece'? You answer Yes.

  Next they ask: Do you accept that Christ was sent by Jehovah to die for our sins, was born of a virgin, was in the grave for three days and then resurrected? You answer that, while believing in God, you have doubts about the accounts accuracy.

  Based on these answers, your status in the congregation probably wouldn't be jeopardized. They would probably suggest that you study literature about Jesus' resurrection and encourage you to pray for strength etc. etc. Reverse the two answers and you you're gone. Just goes to show that the organization is number one, above even Christ.

  No the questions are not in the elders book,, to embarasing. They only let certain elders see those questions because they are too embasrasing to make more widely know. The Governing Body like to keep these thing secret. Much more sneaky that way.

  I recall similar type questions that some elders asked me. Are those question similar to the ones that a person answers at their baptismal talk? I would think it is like they are reconfirming your dedication or contractual vows you originally take and if not they would have legal grounds to DF.

  The Governing Body has many tricks up it's sleeve but I'm afraid they are not clever enought to hide the trail that leads to them and legal culpability.

  I sincerely think the Governing Body has left a very clear paper trail that will cause them great problems in the future. Elders don't forget save all incriminationing correspondence.
