We Should Go On The Offensive Against The Elders That Come After Us!

Instead of allowing the elders to run roughshod over us, I think we should start thinking of how to get to them before they try to impose their will upon us. Some may not care if the elders and Society suddenly went after us. But just out of principle, we should not let them do anything they want to us in their shunning treatment. There must be some things we can do, especially from a legal standpoint that can blunt these religious bullies and abusers......Any ideas?

We have not answered their questions. When asked a direct question, we reply with another question, such as "why do you ask?". Usually that cools their jets.

One elder asked if we consider ourselves to be JW's anymore. I asked him if he considered us to be ones. He was confused by that, and dropped it.

So far they haven't done anything to us.

I'm sure the Society will direct them to get specific answers if they are trying to disassociate us. I think it's better to confront this potential problem now rather than when they go on the attack.

Right now I don't care what they try to do to me. They can't do anything that would effect me at all, I guess that's why they just let me be. They do come by every few years and talk a few minutes.

A letter to the Secretary certified with signature confirmation quoting some of the courts order in the case agains the WT by Barbara or any other more apropriate.

State that you "heard" that an announcement was made mentioning your name, that since you are a lover of the truth, despite what other may think about, you are really concerned about your reputation and worry being demafed... therefore you want elders to confirm or if is just gossip... or an spin about the case regarding your mother.

What possible reason could they have to DA you? Your not dead weight, unless its to scare you in to being liturature delivery people again? I dont know but I dont think they want to go pissin people off more than they are right now. I could be completely wrong but I just dont see things going that way. If they start DAing folks for being inactive and we treat them like they are DF'd it seems like it would piss too many r & fers off. Shoot I wouldnt be able to talk to 3/4 of my family. If they started that it'd be my excuse to leave.

    Just my thoughts tho.

Just wait and see, it not going to be overnight... actually it is being done right now to some degree, it is an unwritten rule which the don't they enforce, those who want privileges have been doing it for a long time. Their opinion is that an inactive ja must be doing some secret thing.

Not really, besides they are legally and technically right to consider an inactive as not one member of the jw religion therefore...

Isn't the WTS offensive a bit like "tree house" politics? If you want in, you have to play by their rules. How do you rebut that?

What we need is a direct connection showing the WTBTS level directive to local elders. Then you need to show legal jurisdiction in religious matters. That's why the Anderson case is so pertinent.

Until then the elders will continue to play mob boss while hiding in the heights of "religious freedom."

Now the court of public opinion is a different story. A large scale PR campaign by recently DA'd JWs for doing "nothing" (inactive) might scare the GB back on their heals and have potential recruits running.

Warning to GB: Wholesale disassociation will confirm your cult status to the world. A shunned xJW has nothing to lose.

Believe me, I hope it does happen; I'd resign that very day. I just don?t see the reason for it. Sagging numbers, apathy from the r&f, legal problems, it would make more sense to me to become more tolerant.

What would be the motivation? Sorry, not being stubborn, just don?t see it yet. I know where your coming from, its the wording of the new org book, but it could just as easly mean the opposite of what your thinking, no?
