I can tell you from experience that the elders run like out house rats. These are a gutless bunch of wannabes. The Witness people are cowards and ignorant, that's why they have to shun anyone who does not agree with them. They are too stupid to discuss anything but the weather and the garden. Every Witness I know has run like a scared rabbit when I have confronted them. They lie and twist and run. These are NOT people to fear, let me tell ya.

NICOLAOU..Great idea on the cease and desist notices...I am going to copy this one out...
I have been expecting a call from the elders soon and I think they will be trying to "draw me out"
If I am threatened in any way with dissasociation I was going to say something like: "I don't like being harrassed or threatened in this manner and if you make any sort of annoucement against me I will personally sue you for slander, endangerment to my family and mental distress." (My sis is still a witness and I would be cut off from her if I am DAd.)
I was also thinking of a religious argument here based on the fact that I was batized before 1985. In 1985 the baptism vows were changed. I was baptised to serve god and christ. In 1985 the dedication vows were to serve god and the organization. Thus my contract as being one of JWs was made null and void by this change in the contract--thus I am not truly a member of the WT organization.
Any other ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to just sit back and let them dump their garbage on me.
Thank, cybs

Threaten them with being sued.

cyber-sista, this is for your reading enjoyment."Christians must appreciate these facts. Their dedication is not to an organization nor to a work. Neither is it to a human or a government; it is only to the Creator himself, to Jehovah God, through Jesus Christ."

Mini,
I agree, with qualifications.
The bros that DF'd me were just like me about 5 years ago. I think they will wake up soon. They all volunteered to be on my judicial committee, I think to try and protect me from the Pharissees on the body. After lagging for several months they finally followed through loyally obeying the WT.
I had a case against the brothers who announced we were apostates 6 months before the final judicial hearing. I consulted with an attorney and I probably had a real lawsuite but did not pursue it. I hope those who do have a case, legal case, go after the self righteous janitors and lawn men drunk with power as "Elders", but remember there are some genuine men who have a good heart who have not opened their eyes yet.

Whether they are genuine good men or not----what WILL get them to think is a lawsuit.

I've checked the law, and in my state, it's legal for someone to record a conversation I have with someone else. Only 1 person participating in the conversation makes it legal for it to be taped without the others' knowledge, without a court order.
I always thought it would be really cool for someone to tape a JC committee meeting. That would be great evidence against the tyranny of the elders! It could be released to tv shows and posted on the web, too, for public listening (provided it's legal).

Great thought Rebel,
I my state it is legal to tape a phone conversation if one party is aware that it is being recorded. I have 3 such tapes. One with Bethel, Brooklyn, N.Y. one with the P.O. at my former place of worship and another with a local elder at my former place of worship. Both elders agreed that it would be improper, according to the manual "Pay Attention To Yourselves And To All The Flock", for a Jehovah's Witness to affiliate with the United Nations for any purpose whatsoever. To do so would immediately be considered as disassociating oneself from Jehovah, Jesus christ and the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. I am waiting for an appropriate time to have these recorded telephone discussions made public. It appears that, from all available evidence and information I have in my posession regarding the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society's changing doctrinal positions during the past one hundred years, the time for releasing these discussions I have had with legally appointed representatives of the Watch tower Bible and Tract Society is drawing very close at hand.
