Disfellowshipped in 1966 for apostasy when I returned to the Catholic Church. Best thing that ever happened to me. No more need of pretending to believe in something that I no longer had faith in. Boy, that sure removed a lot of the strain. Have never gone back and will never go back to JWs.
who is who on here??

A Paduan
Never was a jw, never had a study - jws visited but couldn't deal with my conversation - sent a couple of elders even, and then jws moved next door - they lied, were seriously hateful toward us and took pleasure in actually persecuting my family, still do - so I came on line for second opinions about jw behaviours, what makes them tick, and what would drive them to such fearbiting - now I get it - I should never have trusted them in any manner from the outset - I've never had to do that before - it's a hard idea to get used to - now I don't trust anyone with short hair and 'neat' clothes until I've interacted with caution.

I am a nobody, a nothing, really. Just a fool on the hill, watching the sun come and go down, watching the wind blow. Unable to resist time, it pushes me forward as it does every other thing. Soon, it will push me right off the stage.

I am a sumbody, a something, really. Just a smart in the valley, watching the moon go down and up, watching the wind suck. Unable to resist time, it pulls me backward as it does ever other thing. soon it will suck me right off the stage." mmm.. works for me.
my JW history in a nutcase:
Converted to JWism aged 8. Doorknocked alone and started preparing 6 minute talks aged 10, Baptised and became regular pioneer aged 15, became MS aged 18, Married aged 24, Walked away aged 27 .. graduated a fully fledged self made apostate aged 35, Discovered internet apostacy aged 42, .. still trying to 'leave the truth' aged 47.
True success is to leave tyrany behind and never look back .

Wow Satanus .. cool idea .. like the film that showed bombs floating up from devestated Dresden and back into the bomb bays of planes which returned them backwards to British airfields where there were unloaded and sent back to the factories for careful dismantling ... if only we had such a machine .... I'd be tempted to send earth back a few million years .. mind you 1957 and the thought of re-entering mother has me worried ..

Non-JW here. I have a JW friend whose way of thinking I wanted to understand... this board has helped me out a lot with that!

I was raised as a witness, and did the fade about 10 years ago. I thought I would never have interest in religion again, but have recently begun going to a non-denominational church and it is surprisingly enjoyable.

Never been a JW, never had a study, have had numerous and in depth conversations with them as they have on many occasions canvased my neighborhood, and I've never been to the KH although invited.
I've been married to an exJW for just over 8 years who frequents this site . We very often have engaged in our own studies of the bible. Several years ago he even attended church with me. He often mentions I should go to a KH meeting atleast once just to see what it is like compared to a church service. I am, however, not interested.
My religous background or experience has been Episcopalian>Non-Denominational>Baptist.
I believe in God The Father, Christ The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
