Is a lefthanded person, even though they are born with that orientation, required to become a righthander?
To not live as you were born is abnormal. Homosexuality is not a disease. It is a difference in wiring.
To those of you who find it disgusting I just have one thing to say. Get over yourself. It isn't about you. And I am not defined by who I sleep with as to my worth as an individual. If you don't "associate" with gay people I can only express my sympathy. You are most likely " associating" with way more gays than you think. We aren't all stereotypical flamers.

And probably as many engage in anal sex? So what's the difference? Gender? Is it somehow cleaner because it's between a man and a woman? Lesbian sex transmits FAR less disease than hetero sex. Ever gotten a BJ? "Yodeled in the canyon?" Then you're not much different than your gay neighbors. As a matter of fact, your straght friends may very well be WAY kinkier than your gay neighbors but you don't really think about that, do ya? I didn't decide to be hetrosexual. I knew that I behaved the way I felt I was supposed to - and by that I mean because I am a Christian and believe the Bible, then I had nothing to worry about.

We've had this issue raised many times - and there will no doubt be more topics of this nature.
I've knowthat I can't please everyone all of the time - my opinions and ideas are going to conflict with some of you. And that's the reason I generally don't make issues of issues.
If you're gay then you have to get on with your life.
If you're straight then you have to get on with your life.
If you were brought up as a Christian with a belief in God and the Bible, then you know the answers to this issue.
If you have no belief in God or believe that Jesus loves everyone, then you know the answers to this issue.
At the end of the day, until a higher power makes himself known, and his presence felt, we will always be talking about this.
