I wonder if Brother Benson is comforted to have the kind boot of his master on his neck.

Natas: I'm pretty sure Brother Benson gets a pass, as does Brother Prince, the Sisters Williams, and the glove-handed crotch snatcher formerly known as Brother Jackson.

upside/down....Well, you would've had to switch to CDs anyway, right?

Yeah, but I kept my records (vinyl) "mint". It would have been worth a fortune by now and I could have sold them and donated the money to the WTS and....

u/d (of the keeper of the money purse class)

p.s.- what an idiot I was. I actually believed it all

My grandmother was all into George Benson when I was a child, especially that song "Let's Do It Again" (hmmm, let's do what again?) Actually she was all into any celebrity that had anything to do with the JW's. Back then, she wasn't even baptized yet, but I'm pretty sure that was one of the main factors as to why she decided to study more and drag the rest of the family into it.

Right on. Went to a party once where Michael Jackson's mama (a dub) was present. Most of the sisters, and some of the men, were in awe. She was clearly royalty.

I remember when the society started cracking down on rap music. That was the worst. Never threw out any of my tapes or CD's but I did hide quite a few in my high school locker every time an Awake magazine came in the mail. Thank God for walkmans.

Wallflower - I think this is old news, but supposedly this is a Prince version of a JW tune

I didn't destroy any of my LP's (too precious), but I had many friends who dumped their Stevie Nicks, Rolling Stones, Alan Parsons, Alice Cooper, Kate Bush...it was like Fahrenheit 451, burn the books! So silly

From what I've heard through the dub grapevine (and we all know how twisted it is) the song was not performed by george benson or celine dion. The emails floating between dubs claim george benson and celine dion are singing. It's apparently a brother and sister who have left the truth, but before they did they recorded this song. That may be the reason the song is "banned" - you know it probably has secret messages if you play it backwards. Something like "satan is gonna get you, satan is gonna get you" or "santa is real and the easter bunny is gonna kick your @ss".

Within the next two months most dubs will hear through the grapevine (if they haven't already) that the song was sung by apostates and that's why we shouldn't be downloading or sharing it. See, the GB is looking out for our best interests. Sometimes we don't understand why things are decided but if we are faithful we will be safe.

Funny. It'd be a different thing if it had been their own idea. Heaven forbid that someone else came up with it...

The question was asked though, is it copyrighted material? I thought the songs were very old and the society had never bothered to renew their copyrights...
