Can you ever forgive your family for shunning you?

You mean WHILE they are doing it? :-)

Hi jeannie... I've forgiven my brother. Never my parents though. Holier than thou crap that they have. I could really go on and vent, not gonna let it get to me. If my parents ever did come around, we would never have a child/parent relationship again(not that we ever did). I would treat them as acquaintances, you know, 'how's the weather' type of thing. hg

Yeah, like Gary said. If they quit, sure. We all did dumb things as cult members. If they take off the blinders, I wouldn't hold their behavior while still "in" against them.
For now, hard to say. I guess I don't currently hold it against them personally. But they're just my inlaws. If it was my parents, or my children, I think my attitude would be different. You expect more from your own Mommy, Daddy, kids.

definetly not while they are doing it. Guess that doesn't make me a very good Christian then does it?

the relatives who shun me are so dysfunctional that I think they are using the religon as an excuse to just be nasty.
I do not care. Not having them in my life is not even apparent....

They didn't. I shunned them.

I can forgive them of shunning me!
However, I could not forgive myself if I were to shun them!

I actually enjoy the shunning. There's nothing to forgive about doing me a favor. I hope they never quit. They are finally doing something that I like. If they started to talk to me, THAT would piss me off.
