Robert Blake Found Not Guilty!

I'm glad they found him not guilty, I don't think he did it. But as Mulan said, his life is ruined. I saw Barbara Walters interview him about a year go, and he was severely emotionally disturbed. He appeared to bounce from a manic giddiness to the depths of despair. It was pitiful to see him in that condition on TV. I can't believe Barbara Walters allowed it to shown. I guess nothing is scared anymore, whatever horrible thing happens in a persons life-all of it is OK to be shown on TV.

and yes his wife was a horrible woman.

You left out a key word above though... It should read no "reasonable" doubt.

    Adelmaal,

You're right. I did. I should have put it that way. My bad.

Even the jurors on the news today admitted they could not say for a certainty that Blake was innocent. They could only say he was not proven guilty. There's a difference between being innocent and being not guilty.

I watched this today too. Yup, you're right again. In legal terms, Blake was acquitted of the charges, and not innocent of them. Gets a bit hairy sometimes.

In my opinion, the key thing juries need to keep in mind is what constitutes reasonable doubt. Does common sense based on the facts of the case convince you that the person did it. If not, then you have reasonable doubt.

Right again! What the jury heard did not fit the burden of proof that they needed to find him guilty of any of the charges. At any rate---I was never convinced ( for many reasons) that he murdered her from the get-go, when he was first arrested.

    Jeff,

I honestly don't think this is true in Blake's case. He hasn't done anything major in films or TV in years. His Legal fees must be phenomenal. He was never known for an extravagant lifestyle as many stars are, and he was saying that now all this is over---he desperately needs a JOB!

OJ and Bryant are sports stars and have more money than God. There is hardly a comparison between them and Blake in this instance.

Uh---okay. He "did it" so he could have his life dragged in front of the public, could spend all that time in jail with no normal priviledges at his age, and go through the agony of a trial........yup, makes sense to ME....not!

    (PS.............He didn't "do it".)

I believe he actually did it myself. Didn't they find a gun missing from his gun collection that was used as the weapon in this crime?...

Let's see if I have this right. Here in the good old USA, if you are rich or famous and you are accused of murder, you are automatically guilty. And if you have enough money to hire a decent lawyer, then this makes you guilty, too. Who of us, if accused of murder would not hire a good lawyer if we could afford it? Murder is a very serious charge and someone accused of it needs to hire the best lawyer that they can afford, especially if they are innocent.
