Dying with dignity. I'm all for it.
In the case that I get a terminal illness, I'd like to be put out of my misery before it gets to its worst stage.

Dying with dignity.
Says it all for me!
For an excellent examination of this subject, rent the vid of "Whose Life Is It Anyway?" (play turned movie, starring Richard Dreyfuss).
We 'did' it in Philosophy 101, and it covers all angles ... the dying man ... the family ... the medical professionals.

Yes. If someone is provably terminaly ill, why prolong their misery and loss of dignity.
Why spend thousand and thousands of dollars keeping someone only half alive?
It's just as painful to lose someone ill like this than it is to allow them to "hang on" indefinitely, knowing that day will come anyway.

God gave you your life, it's up to you what you do with it.

God gave you your life, it's up to you what you do with it......So very True!
You have choices in your life if that is one you want to make its not up to me to say No or Stop!
However, Choosing to die is a coward thing to do. Its the easy way out.
I think Life is wonderful and beautiful. Life is what you make of it.

I don’t think someone in a vegetative state knows that their body is living, so they might just as well be dead. People who are mentally depressed but otherwise healthy should (imo) not be allowed to die.
Yes,
If they are terminaly ill and that is there choice, it should be respected.

Leaving aside the medical context for a moment...
I am not sure what a "right" is.
But the fact is anyone may choose to die anytime and in many ways. To me this lies at the very heart of what we call "freedom".
The more a biological individual who didn't choose to be born realises s/he doesn't have to live, the more whatever he chooses to be or do becomes her/his. No matter how or for how long.
Without a "right to die" there can't be a "right to live". But I still don't know what a "right" is...
Tp prolong "life" for years with no hope of ever being off of a machine, is wrong in my opinion.
