If you disagree with the Governing Body on its changing doctrines then you are disagreeing with God and will face a kangaroo court made up of carpet cleaners and window washers who are able to judge your heart condition.

It is the only "Christian" religion that refers less of Christ and more of the "Old Testament" (Hebrew/Aramaic Scriptures).

I found them very misleading as to the level of control they would attempt to exert over their members.
Exactly my thoughts as well.
It's not just a religion, it's a lifestyle...a cult lifestyle that makes one feel guilty for thinking on their own. You have to agree with everything they say.
love...Lol! You saved them!

You CAN'T talk to your mom, daughter or son if they are disfellowshipped and living OUTSIDE the home!

That the WTS requires 'Whole Souled Devotion' and that God is only their vehicle to get it from you.

Something that struck me in particular was while conducting studies in the big red book, I think it's the Live Forever book? Around chapter 3 or so it proclaimed how you (the newbie person studding) should be very concerned and investigate religions to determine who had the true religion......or something like that.
Then you get all through the book and like the second to last chapter you are told that Jehovah's Witness have the truth and to look elsewhere or in another publications not sanctioned by the WTS would condemn you to everlasting death, or something to that effect.......
That really got me to thinking and I doubt by the time you had indoctrinated the bible study they ever caught that little foible.

Kate, I was told years ago when they stopped using the Live Forever book, that the man looking for directions was now an "apostate".

They won't tell you that the "love" shown to newcomers and first-time attenders cools off after you become a member, and that if you (as a member) aren't in a congregation clique, that life as a JW can be very lonely. They tell you to lose your old "worldly" friends and imply you should stay at arms'-length from your non-JW family members. Soon after you join you can feel very alone.
"The love of the greater number will cool off" -- after you join it can feel very lonesome.
