He's always been a hero of mine. His new CD is called "Has Been" and it's an _incredible_ album. Aimee Mann, Joe Jackson, Henry Rollins guest star in it. Ben Folds cowrites, plays piano and organ and produces it. Matt Chamberlain drums. Shatner lyrics are hilarious, healtfelt, disturbing. He seems to be speaking from the heart and it just about has me convinced it's true. Themes ranges from death, to family, to fun, to outrage. It's a record you can't not stop whatever you're doing and pay attention.

Shatner's offerings have always excited me, "King Henry the Fifth" and "It Was a Very Good Year" are particular favourites of mine. For any others interested in the Star Trek / popular music cross over my I take this opportunity to direct you to ?The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins? by Leonard Nimoy. I still wonder to this day why it wasn't used in screen version of LotR.

Henry Rollins is on it (a personal fav), as well as many other famous artists, and it's supposed to excellent. I'll have to get this one.
Shatner also won an Emmy this year for his TV show. He is one of the most successful working actors in Hollywood. It's kinda funny, after all these years of people making fun of him, you know, "The William Shatner School of Acting", etc. This Canadian has been in the profession for 40 years, and still prosperous and busy as hell.

Hey have any of you been watching Boston Legal he is really good on it. The show I've heard is a hit. My husband and I have seen Shattner at Star Trek conventions, he has been funny and self depreciating. We very much enjoyed his montalogs at them.

Glad you guys like Shatner too. He's a real hero to me. When he dies (he has a great song and a great line in that song about maybe being dead by the time you listen to the CD) I will mourn for weeks. Also glad you found this thread as it was moved. I can't believe how busy and looked after this board is.

I've always been a big Bill Shatner fan . He is a very funny man as well as a great actor and seems to have limitless talent . He does a great job on SNL . Anything with Bill Shatner in it is interesting to me . Damnit jim !!!!!!!!!
