Well it looks like my bf plans to have this little meeting next Sunday. I am very worried about this because I told him if afterwards nothing has changed we're over. For whatever reason he feels this will do some good. How I'm not sure. He either thinks he is going to see something is wrong with the religion or something is right.
I have told him what i plan to do like; Present them with religious reading material than their own. (Now if I remember correctly, they won't even read it. So does anyone have any ideas on what would be the best material to bring that they will not read it for sure??) I plan to ask plenty of questions,. I want to catch them in a lie or web. If I can prove to my bf that they will do all these things he may beleive me. If not it's over. I can't take the pain of going through this. I love him dearly and this is jus too much. So anymore ideas would be greatly apperciated.
You could ask where in the world they got the idea that in the 19th century "God" decided to choose them to speak for him, including the conveyance of all required "God rules" and "God regulations".
Was it because they decided to use the name 'jehovah' ? (which is not even 'God's name)
Was it because they were 'better' than other people ? (they don't have or support charity - aside from talk)
Did their gamet of false prophecies not disway them at all ?
Was it because they thought the world was going to end, and surely they were 'special' ? (they still freak out that the world is going to end - anytime, lookout!)
Was it because they "understood" the bible better than other people ? (give me a break)
Was it because they thought they were the only ones preaching ? (you could point out that they are not - eg. the RCC has funded, organised and utilised a special section of them, for that purpose, for ~2000 yrs)
There were people who sought out ancient things, believing that those in possession of them were not as knowing and worthy - and they looked at the ancient things, and, not seeing, they made their own stories up - and they looked at the ancient things and not, seeing they made their own stories up, and they looked at the ancient things, not seeing they made their own stories up.
