Seems Rex has gotten under the skin of some, and the response to JWs here is sometimes... interesting. I'm with you. Conspicuously missing from the thread, however, is Max. I wonder why.

We've had a long history of this behavior:
Rex: "Read this: It proves evolution is false."
Us: "That's old hat, it's a misquote, and here's the real quote."
Rex: "I see nobody can answer my material. Ha!"
It gets real old. For years we've been putting up with his act, and he keeps going in circles with the same dishonest stuff. After a while, you do get sick of it.

Rex's debunking evolution/science act gets under my skin too. However, this time he did not do it, and so does not deserve to be villified.

I too, strongly disagree with this comment. I have yet to have one experience that I consider bad. And I think the reason I haven't had one is because of the way I treat others on this board. I respect their viewpoints even if I do not agree with them. Although I do TRY to refrain from vulgarities and judgementalness myself, if another doesn't do the same, it doesn't mean I'm better than them. We're all imperfect humans, but we are all accountable for our actions - good and bad. I just think that there is a way to be firm, stand up for yourself, make a point and NOT be rude or judgemental about it. When I see rude replies on this board, it is usually because there is something about the original post that was rude or offensive to begin with. I've said it before - the delivery of the message is just as important as the message itself.
I am usually treated with a lot of respect on this board. Why? I'd like to think it's because I give respect on this board. I firmly believe that others will treat you the way you treat them. If someone treats me like crap, it is all the more reason for me to be kind back. More often than not, the person realizes their words/actions were uncalled for and then begin treating me with respect. Rudeness begets rudeness. Kindness begets kindness.
Eventually what goes around, comes around. Good and evil. Does anybody disagree?

It would seem Mr Rex feeds on negative emotion. He gets a lot of pleasure from stirring the pot. Mr Rex has no interest in logic or reason. His purpose and reason to exist is to irritate and antagonise. And by his own admission he enjoys it.
Anyone who derives pleasure by merely causing unrest amongst a group of people needs to wake up and smell the coffee...

Hippikon, you started off well when you said, "It would seem Mr Rex feeds on negative emotion." That is an opinion, and there was nothing wrong in stating it. From then on you made nothing more than assumptions. You assumed that "He gets a lot of pleasure..."; "has no interest in..."; what his purpose is. The problem with making assumptions is that others take those assumptions and turn them into facts. It's how rumors start, imo.
The only way you can accurately say these things is if you knew firsthand that they were true. Otherwise, you are being unkind, imo.

Billygoat, I notice that you have been posting for less than a month. How long were you posting before then?
It is quite possible to be as kind and considerate and respectful of others opinions but still be treated like crap, a point you seem to acknowledge. As my sister would always say when I said that something "never" happened/s to me: "keep living." Disagree with a certain type of individual, even if you are respectful, and you'll see that it is very possible to be treated disrespectfully, and without cause. Respectfully disagree with a Watchtower article or something (anything) a GB member says, and you'll see. "But this isn't the WTS!" you say. Even though this isn't the WTS, the same behaviors and attitudes are on display, trust me. Keep living, keep posting, and you'll see.

I agree with your post. A poster who begins by being arrogant,rude,and insulting will usually get replied in kind.
Then there are a couple here who will try to put an emotional charge in a thread.Usually with thinly veiled insulting references to others,and proceed to fan the fire they helped start. Trust me on this. It will become evident by their little 'digging' posts they insert in threads.(Actually only 2 people come to mind). And that's usually cuz they're clueless to a lot of 'history' between posters.

Not exactly an endearing comment. He says to Max, "you have JW rationalism imbedded in your brain." I thought he was joking, then I realized he obviously has not read Maximus posts.
