Jeanniebeanz: "They get put under tremendous pressure to conform to the wishes of the rest of the body in matters they do not agree with. After a while, the conscience cracks and they're out."

Such a true statement. I hate to sound condescending so I apologize if it comes out that way but those of you who were never elders or their wives to a degree have no idea how it is for them so please dont be too quick to judge. I again say that I am not agreeing with crappy treatment but for many of them, they behave like this out of loyalty to an organization not God or Christ.

Its all a sham people, elders are not...NOT appointed by holy spirit so we shouldnt expect it to be acting thru them. For those of you who still believe in god that is.

I was a Bethelite, a Ministerial Servant, a Pioneer, and an elder at various points in my life.

If you do "care" and are an elder, you aren't going to last very long. That's the way the

system is. A fellow elder heard I quit: the first thing he said was 'the ones who care about

the friends are quitting'. He still struggles because he knows too much and laments about

the Society 'why aren't they more like the Mennonites?' (??). He still cares. I don't know

how he does it. I think he just fakes most of it.

The Watchtower's lack of care is catching up with them. Too many Witnesses are

gagging on the 'spiritual paradise' claim.
