    LittleToe:

So you're saying that we're ecclectic, like many Christians.

    And, following up via Narkissos:

"In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, diversity; in all things, charity (love)."

    Yeah, kinda like that, sorta....

    hmike:

What term would you use to describe someone like me, who would be considered about 90% conservative Christian and 90% politically liberal?

    What would you say?

At my usual & long time internet hangout, (Beliefnet.com), I dropped "Evangelical" from my Profile. (They have boxes you can check to describe yourself or a "blank box" where you can say anything; I typed in "christian"). I got rid of "Evangelical" as I didn't want to be identified as aligning myself with the fairly recent "theological left" within evangelicalism.

Btw, I'm left-of-center on the political scale. If it weren't for my conservative beliefs on "moral issues" (based on my understanding of Scripture), I'd be inside "The Evangelical Left."

I recently joined a book discussion Dialogue Group @ Beliefnet based on "God's Politics" by Jim Wallis (also editor of Soujourners Magazine). Having read just the first chapter; so far he's bringing up interesting ideas in areas of "social concerns." However, I don't know his position on moral issues, if he is theologically liberal? along those lines. Here's an FYI link:

    I think I'm rambling,
