A man's place is to be fair, loving and kind towards his spouse, children and fellow man. I believe many men act with little respect to women due to upbrining and culture, not necessarily becuase they feel they are superior to women. The day when society teachs our son's to treat women as equals will be a great day for mankind.

A few months ago, there was an opening with the CIA for an assassin. These highly classified positions are hard to fill, and there's a lot of testing and background checks involved before you can even be considered for the position. After sending some applicants through the background checks, training and testing, they narrowed the possible choices down to 2 men and a woman, but only one position was available. The day came for the final test to see which person would get the extremely secretive job. The CIA men administering the test took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. "We must know that you will follow your instructions no matter what the circumstances," they explained. "Inside this room, you will find your wife sitting in a chair. Take this gun and kill her." The man got a shocked look on his face and said, "You can't be serious! I could never shoot my own wife!" "Well," says the CIA man, "you're definitely not the right man for this job then." So they bring the second man to the same door and hand him a gun. "We must know that you will follow instructions no matter what the circumstances," they explained to the second man. "Inside you will find your wife sitting in a chair. Take this gun and kill her." The second man looked a bit shocked, but nonetheless took the gun and went in the room. All was quiet for about 5 minutes, then the door opened. The man came out of the room with tears in his eyes. "I tried to shoot her, I just couldn't pull the trigger and shoot my wife. I guess I'm not the right man for the job." "No," the CIA man replied, "You don't have what it takes. Take your wife and go home." Now they're down to the woman left to test. Again they lead her to the same door to the same room and hand her the same gun. "We must be sure that you will follow instructions no matter what the circumstances, this is your final test. Inside you will find your husband sitting in a chair. Take this gun and kill him." The woman took the gun and opened the door. Once the door closed, the CIA heard the gun start firing. One shot after another for 13 shots. Then all hell broke loose in the room. They heard screaming, crashing, banging on the walls. This went on for several minutes, then all went quiet. The door opened slowly, and there stood the woman. She wiped the sweat from her brow and said, "You guys didn't tell me the gun was loaded with blanks! I had to beat the bastard to death with the chair!"

I'm 58 years old and I grew up in a world far different than today in many ways. But, in view of the topic (Men need to know their place) I'll stay with how a man's place in society has altered with time.
It was a man's world predominately for thousands of years by the time I was born. Women were property and child breeders, ornaments and playthings throughout history. Few women rose to the top of any profession; but, when they did they were often objects of scandal and scorn by men.
Women were expected to be beautiful, submissive and only as bright as necessary to fascinate their man. And most of these ideas were firmly entrenched in Scripture; so, we men had it on good authority things should remain this way forever.
By the time I was old enough to think of the opposite sex in terms of sex I'd been fed a steady diet of mixed messeges and unequal standards. Rock Hudson and Doris Day movies showed me that women don't mind being tricked and lied to as long as you eventually marry them. (What a weird messege!) Women wanted marriage and kids and men wanted sex. Period!
Then, the 60's came along. Free Love meant you didn't have to marry to have sex. Communes sprung up for Flower Children to experience an open society without the hassles of sexist rules. These Utopian communities eventually became hellholes dominated by men with all the fallout of women doing everything and men merely reaping the benefits. That is why you don't see third and fourth generation communes stemming from the early ones.
Women united politically and strove for equal pay for equal work and the right to have their own credit, property and say-so. But, the Equal Rights Amendment never found enough women voters to push it through into law. Why? I blame the Bible; but, you can offer your own explanation.
Religion has kept women in ___their__place; which is under the thumb of any man any place at any time. Men still rule the world and use religion to guilt-trip women into never escaping the tender trap of family and godly submission.
Women breed little soldiers who are used to fight whatever war necessary for the ruling men to hold their power. They also breed self-despair, depression and broken lives.
Why?
MEN.
We men still wield enough power to keep women dependant on our rules, our social structures and our pressures to conform. True, women can do almost whatever they choose to do---but, they will pay a price ten times higher in consequences than any man will. Look at divorce. Who will labor in poverty to raise the children of divorce? Who will struggle through a million day-to-day obstacles just to survive? Women. Men go their merry way and find a younger and prettier substitute who will fill their needs (until that one sours.....and the next..).
Women compete wonderfully well in the business world and the marketplace, yet, paradoxically, hold little of the wealth and power that men easily achieve in these same venues. Why? Men run a closed shop and women don't easily form alliances.
Alliances? Yes, women cut each other's throats competitively. Women seem to always fall into the trap of powerful man/dependant woman and end up in sexual relationships with the power brokers. This undercuts their credibility. You see, men won't let women form alliances with them without tossing in the sex as a perk.
Women can have it all now---and they do: all the pain, all responsibility, all the work of creating new generations of sexists. It is inevitable because females fall into the same trap over and over and over.
What is the trap?
They sell themselves short. They agree to work for less. They refuse to hold out for better and best. They settle; for weak men, inferior economic status and the burden of motherhood without an equal concession from the men. And, even when men do AGREE; they don't keep their end of the bargain.
Men are free to be free and women never are. Women: They are responsible creatures for the most part. Men may or may not be on whim.
In the marketplace of life women sell themselves short; men seldom do.
So, they (women) either end up married to a drone who will control them; a weak man whom they can control (but cannot respect); a lout who will command them and drain them dry; or detach from men in general and only occaisionaly use them like a battery-operated toy. Not the best of any world!
Men? They go along to get along hiding their agenda and have worked it all out pretty well. Men seem to have very simple tastes. They want large-breasted young bimbo porn stars with compliant personalities who won't back talk or give opinions and who will vanish at the snap of a finger when the sex is over. Men want somebody to pick up their underwear and press their shirts; have a hot meal on the table and get the noisy kids out of the room when football is on. Men, in short, WANT WHAT THEY WANT WHEN THEY WANT IT.
Women, on the other hand, expect to have to bargain for what they eventually receive; and it is never quite enough.
So, the female plays the game; the only game she can see that works for her. She pretends. SHE PRETENDS!
Women live FAKE lives pretending to be beautiful all the time (when around men) and interested in what men have to say. Women pretend men's opinions really mean something. Women pretend their boyfriend or husband is "just great". Women pretend any conflict is always their own fault. Women pretend things will get better and "this will all work itself out if I just try harder."
And you wonder why they are depressed, suicidal and end up seeking solace with pills, a bottle or a religious group that promises PARADISE at the end of the day?
Men have FOUND their place; women enabled it by not sneaking up on men in the middle of the night in some distant tribe back in the Neanderthal Valley and smashing the tribal leader across the skull. Women didn't take charge when they could have and changed the course of history. It would have required a few well-chosen murders; but, women could have saved the weaker men as their property and sex slaves and child-tenders. But, they never did. And the world is what it is today as a result.
