Religion has kept women in ___their__place; which is under the thumb of any man any place at any time. Men still rule the world and use religion to guilt-trip women into never escaping the tender trap of family and godly submission.
I don't know if we are made to feel guilty. Perhaps we just better understand what it means to honor someone.
When I was married (in a preivous life), I wished that my then-husband would have assumed his parental load of responsibility. It would have been easier for me. When I got pregnant, I chose to quit drinking and smoking, and be a loving mom to my kids. He chose to stay on that alcoholic path, and that is where our paths separated. From then on, he distanced himself from me and my baby. He never did step up to the plate of parenthood. We were not a healthy match.
