Hi Mark (Kingdoman)--if you're still checking in,
As others have said, most people here are ex-JWs who left the organization for various reasons. Many are still bitter and angry with the way they were treated by the organization or people in the local KH. There's no mistake that JW is a cult, which tries to control its members in order to perpetuate itself, and not for the members' benefit, or even for the God they claim to serve.
Because of the way the WTS mistreated them, and the way the organization mishandled the Bible, many people who left JW have also abandoned God and the Bible (at least insofar as it came from God in any sense, but rather feel that it is entirely of human origin)--they consider it all part of the same package. So here you will find a lot of atheism, agnosticism, New Age, etc. That is why you received such a cool reaction when you busted in the door like Eliot Ness at a brewery.
If you feel it is your calling to approach people in cults in the manner you did, who am I to argue? But, frankly, it comes off like there is no genuine concern for those you address--you're just doing your duty, or collecting jewels for your crown, which is how the cults come off.
Most people who come here to "save the world" post once and disappear. If you stick around, you may learn about real people.
