Well hon, I know what that feels like.......several years ago I worked at a place on Contract. I had to pay full union dues but I had absolutely no Rights whatsoever seeing as I was only there on Contract. I actually spoke to a lawyer to see if that's even legal to take my frigging money and then not give me and Rights. Sure enough, it is...........Anyhoo, I made the fatal mistake of questioning this practice in my usual quiet and unobtrusive way . In the process, I managed to piss off both the Union AND Management---no easy feat, but I did it! They didn't have grounds to fire me, but they just stopped calling me...........rotten sly bastards. I got back at them though. However, certain liable laws prevent me from telling you how I accomplished this.

If you really hated your job, in the long run, you'll be glad you're no longer there. Still, it's quite devastating to be let go, even when you know you haven't done anything wrong........take some time for yourself and then re-focus on what YOU want to do.

I'm sorry to hear that, Tres Happy!!! But maybe this will give you the opportunity to make a fresh start doing something you enjoy.

    Tres,

I got fired a while back, for being sick. Yup, I was in a car accident, and had to wear a back brace, etc. Even though they didn't want to, they had to fire me. I had the accident on my first week w/ the company, and they paid my sick bennies for 6 weeks. Stoopid drunk driver! My boss was so upset, but what could he do? I was so crushed and felt ashamed, even though he praised my work highly (I had temped there, so my work is why I was hired).

anyway,,, point is, as Mary said, it really is devastating, even when it's either not your fault, or what you secretly wanted.

Chin up, sounds like you already have better times planned. ;)

A similar thing happened to me just a few months ago. Thankfully, I found two part-time jobs immediately after. AND I LOVE THEM! One is for an interior designer. The other is for a photography studio. I work a lot of hours between them, but I enjoy what I do. Even after a long day, I still enjoy what I do. Things happen for a reason. Watch...you'll realize later down the road that this was a blessing in disguise. The good thing for you is that you didn't sign a resignation letter. I did...thus no unemployment bennies. But I've learned my lesson.

Like you said...TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!

Love ya and I'll be praying for you to have peace through this!

Talked to my former boss today. According to his superior, I had 5 former bosses (go figure...) he wanted to reprimand me for 90 days and her words were, "well that would just be prolonging the inevitable..." So my suspicions were correct...These two had it in for me...I have learned many things - WATCH YOUR BEHIND!

((((((Treshappy))))) I hope things feel better soon. I agree with the others, I look forward to the day you can tell us how much better you feel now that your not at that job.

    WATCH YOUR BEHIND!

Another phrase I have found usefull to go with this phrase you made, " watch the hand that pats you on the back that it doesn't have a knife in it".

Went and got my stuff today...it was sort of sad but also a relief. He was very helpful, felt terribly about it all and wished me the best. Even helped me carry everything out. I had 10 years worth of stuff in there...went thru all of my personal things. It was all so bittersweet but also relieving. I hate being fired!
