Hello and Welcome susu...you will find many people who have walked in your "shoes" here. Read people's stories and experiences and you'll find you are not ALONE. In fact...being df'd could be a new beginning for you. My hubby and I left the JW's after over 4 decades and we have never been happier or more at peace with ourselves and our lives.

Take a deep breath and repeat after me: "I will survive...I will survive...I will survive".

Welcome susu. Please stay awhile, and meet all kinds of interesting 'folk'. Unlike you, I never was a JW, but have a couple of family members who are and I came here to learn. I have definitely learned. I learned that JW teachings are very involved, much more involved than what most of us "worldly" people even have a clue. I wish you well,

Have you had a chance to read Ray Franz' Crisis of Conscience or In Search of Christian Freedom? I highly recommend them if you haven't.

SuSu ,i highly recommed what Gespro said, it is a real eyeopener from Ray Franz who was a member of the Governing body.

Well, this "hooligan" is still around, but don't let that upset you Susu. :)

I'm glad you found a site where members what you're going through--I hope you feel welcome here. For a religion that requires followers to spend countless hours trying to convert new members, they don't know much about showing love to the folks called brothers and sisters! Shunning is nothing more than control and fear, and has nothing to do with love. I'm sorry you were df'd.

Hooligans come and go - but the issues involved with healing 'post watchtower' remain the same.

Whatever the reasons for the df'ing, this is a good time to take a good healthy look at the organization and what is going on and has. A good time to learn the 'truth about the Truth'.

The books suggested are a great place to start. Also check out www.silentlambs.org and other sites that show the org for what it really is - many here have left after 20,30,40 years so we can help you deal with the feelings you have -

    Welcome aboard -

well i got df'd for having an "inappropriate" relationship with my bf--we dated for about a year (we broke so i think that made it worse) i knew i would probably be df'd so it wasn't too much of a shock but i think it is hilairous how most young ones in the org. today do all these sorts of things and the elders and congregations have no clue whats really going. most young people act exactly like the "wordly" people we are warned not to associate with so i thought "must not be a big deal". ive been the only one with a semi-conscience thats been drilled into me my whole life to come forward with my bad ways and its like even though i have gone through all this i am losing way more then everyone else is. i am trying to to be a bitter person but it seems inevitable.

Hopefully, with time, you will learn to recognize that your DFing was the best thing organization ever did for you. So congratulations on your freedom, and I hope all is well.

    And --- oh yeah:

    WELCOME!!
