The teen-age daughter of a sister I knew had this "Trichi-----thing". She pulled her eyelashes and eyebrows out, and her long blonde hair was taken out in clumps. It was sad and scary.

I have 4 fluffy cats and my main diet is Hairball Formula food... just in case they get too close to me at night.

I have two cats and a dog. The cats are not allowed upstairs at night, I couldn't cope with all that hair on the bed! YUK.
The dog doesn't moult !! We chose his breed with that in mind.
but I KNOW what you mean about cat hairs everywhere! I clean all the time and sweep up, but I'll still notice a cat hair in my sandwich and I ALWAYS pull it out!

Yes Annie it is and i also can't remember the whole name either but my son has it and had done it since he was about 5 years old. He had pulled out his hair ,eyelashes ,eyebrows and hair that grows on his legs and arms . It is hard to watch your kid almost in a trance state picking and pulling at themselves. I don't remember his age at the time but he was put on Antidepressiants and it did help and he is still on them at the age of 21. I still see him once in a while pulling hair on his fingers but the rest stopped with age and meds, so there is hope for others who have this problem .
The medical term is trichotillomania,just looked it up.

So far I've never had a hairball personally, but my cats leave hair everywhere! One of the cats has longer hair and when it fights with the other cat, fur goes flying.

For God's sake scully... that made me gag and gag. What a gross thing to think about. Pictures of human hairballs.. EWW!!!!
I find that my dog sheds more hair than my cat. Especially after I give the dog a bath.

OMG scully, that is soooo gross. I am pretty "close" to my cat, pet and kiss her all the time. There is hair everywhere.
