    Max,

While I greatly admire the passion and poignancy in your response above, the cold hard fact is that flowers will mean nothing to the dead little girl in India, and her parents, who blindly followed the WT's leading on the surgery now have a lot of guilt to live with that flowers won't assuage.

This thread is about SUPPORT FOR THE LIVING, BREATHING, INJURED person who is Erica Rodriguez. Forgive me for thinking that your comments are out of line.

The blood issue is about physical murder. To me, the child molestation issue is also about the taking of life -- because life is never what it could have been for the victims.

We cannot all help every worthy cause. You have picked your primary battlefield. Bill and others have picked a different one. Both are WORTHY.

I personally think that flowers being delivered at the courthouse is extremely impractical unless arrangements can be made in advance for a storage place for them and the letters. CAN that be arranged?

    Love to all,

Forgive me for thinking you have read into my heart-felt post; there were no emoticons for posting with tears in one's eyes.

I've been involved with the CHILD ABUSE battle for a very, very long time. How would you know?

As I understand it Erica is from Othello. Ritzville is just the county seat. I don't like having her name up here, and I assume that address is the courthouse? I hope so. Something I don't understand is, she was molested by two different elders. One molested her from 4 to 11 and the other from 12 to 16. Why is only one on trial? Were the two elders related? Erica said the latter molestation is what put her at her "wits end" and drove her to talk to the witness cop who was also in the same congregation. I have to admire the cop for doing the right thing. How was he treated after the arrest? Just curious. With two elder child molesters in one congregation, I pity the poor children. I'd like to see the other one brought to justice also.

If flowers are sent we will find a place for them. I think the thought will mean far more than the inconvenience of where to put them. It will say to the judge and prosecuter, do it right this time alot of people care about this case.

where in the fucking world did you get this stupid ass idea.
no wonder dubs hate the antis so much. check the facts before you spread the rumors

Let's step away from rumors then. If you want to keep people from talking about Manuel Veliz, then you are a little late. He was convicted already. As for the rest of what I said, I got my information from the post that had Erica's quote in it, the pertinent parts of which I will put here for you.

"by a Jehovah's Witness elder who incidentally also happened to be my father's good and trusted friend. The sexual assaults started at age four and continued until I was eleven. ...I finally at the age of 19 related these sex crimes a peace officer who also happened to be one of JWs. I had come to "my wits end," in that another JW elder had molested me from age twelve to sixteen."

Think before you run your mouth. The reason dubs hate us so much is because, as in this case, they don't know what they are talking about. They like to be a know it all when they don't know anything. They are hypocrites and liars and we point it out to them. I don't know "Erica." I do believe the story is based on facts at least, as I know this bird was convicted and is appealing, on the dates that SL said. I checked that out with the public records. That gives them some credibility. You on the other hand, claiming to be religious, well your language reflects the depth of your religion as well as your moral fiber. With two child molesters in your old congregation, if the rest of her story is as accurate as what I can verify is, I can understand your wanting to keep the rumors down. I think that has been the organization's policy. Yeah, dubs do hate to hear that sort of thing. The TRUTH hurts. Lots of people.

I believe that sending cards or flowers to Erica would help her beyond words. What a lovely idea. I jotted down the address and hope all participate. Imagine if that were your child. Knowing that you had support from countless others would give strength and comfort.

Maybe instead of everyone sending flowers which could take up much room, how about everyone sending 1 rose. Maybe white for the innocence she has lost.

    Maximus,

I greatly admire you and didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I thought of e-mailing you privately, but thought a public apology would be better.

    I hope you'll accept it.

And the point is humbly acknowledged that the WT Blood Policy IS CHILD ABUSE.

    Sorry,

None is necessary; but I appreciate your kind remarks. What I again learn is that words separated from human expression can so easily be misread in this disintermediated cyberworld. Look at the volatility here.

"Sounds great" can be inferred as laudatory or condescendingly sneering.

My post was in a moment of deep emotion, hazardous. There are some who precede Bill in the specific child abuse battle, which takes away nothing from his own laudable acts. My point was indeed, not to take away from a living, breathing human who is hurting, or gracious acts of support, but to underscore there is another insidious form of abuse so easily overlooked; it's real, and it's deadly. You've picked that up. I deal with the broad spectrum of abuse every day. Perhaps only Hawk knows of this little Indian girl.

If I have the choice to be a wooden Watchtower robot, or a sensitive human who can be wounded, I'll be the latter in what Kent refers to as "war."

    Warmly,
    Max
