I think the Sony Walkman came out when I was in high school; can't remember the cost. But I do remember the first calculators being sold at Radio Shack, I think they were closer to $100!...

Bebu is right. The calculators were a hundred dollars. My father still has my old Radio Shack calculator that I bought to use when I tested for my 2nd and 1st class radio/telephone licenses at the FCC in Atlanta. Heh, what a waste of money--both licenses have been discontinued and now all you get is a "general class".

Yeah, Richie, good idea, but I might not be around to see it, unless they have internet access in nursing homes.

    $0.20 first class stamps

Got you beat, Elsewhere.....First class stamp 3 cents ! (in 1962).

and Royal Crown Soda !! Yummy! Do they make that anymore? I'd love to get some.

I remember when I was around 12 years old, I walked to the corner store, and bought a NEHI orange soda. I drank it down fast, and walked across the street, leaned up against the post, and threw up !!

Same store, different day. I used to buy penny candy there also, and the old man that ran the store used to take the candy with his hands and put it in a bag for you. One day, he blew his nose with his fingers. No hanky! !!!!! I never bought penny candy from that store again.!!

Quinten..you threw me a curve ball..I thought you said I was semi-invalid..My name is also Kathy...I am just mentally invalid...

But then I thought..how does he know my name?...DUH!

I have cable also but I don't subscribe to the big movie shows.I think you have to get digital cable for that. I'm not about to fork over $100. a month for that!

Usually in summer I cut back to basic cable which is only $14. a month compared to the $55. a month for advanced cable.

    And Ritchie...you are STILL naked!

    Snoozy....

ps..Hubert that was funny!..Some guys still blow their nose that way! And the Drive in movies for a buck a carload showed top movies then. Not old reruns! I don't think they sell RC anymore..or Nehi..I remember as a teen when Chocolate soda in a bottle..(Soda tasted better in a bottle)
You had to shake it to mix it up and tasted awful to me. It didn't last long ..Although I do see it for sale again.

That's why they call me Quentin Nostrodamus

Choclate Soda... They were nasty. Couldn't shake them up enough. Nehi's still around in some places. Around here you can get Dr. Pepper in a bottle made with Pure Cane Sugar, if you want to pay the primo price, $5.98 a six-pack on sale. Sure are good though.

Pack of smokes for a quarter eh...I remeber when you could buy a quart of beer for twenty-five cents. It would be Pabts Blue Ribbion or Hamms, or even Lone Star, but for twenty-five cents who cared. Pearl beer was out though, think it came directly from Pearl herself.
