Yes, I remember this. That particular WT article said that they were now going to start counting the unborn fetuses of pregnant sisters. Of course, the sisters are supposed to provide proof of how many fetuses are growing inside of them - for accuracy. This will require a visit to the OB-GYN for an ultrasound. The reasoning behind this was that if the sister carrying the baby is going out in service, she is essentially "training" the unborn child "from before infancy." If she studies any of the recently released books, she can count those as "bible studies
I believe the article even went on to say, that all sisters between the ages of 12 and 52 were to have bi-annual pelvic sonograms so that there unfertilized eggs could also be counted, as future potential publishers.
This reminds me of the directions to the attendants to count babes in arms at the meetings/conventions. Will they start counting unborn babies?
They were also told if someone came in during the last minute of a meeting, to count them; if they left after the first minute of a meeting, to count them; and if they were sleeping to count them.
Makes you wonder who they are trying to impress humans or God who already should know.

1990 district convention world wide watchtower mandate NOT to have kids. The comparison was made to Noah's sons and daughter's in law not having babys during the 40 year construction of the Ark.
OK, but who are the "other groups" the WTS refers to?
Probably made up stuff as usual. They claim to know what other religions do and say but it's usually exaggeration.
My local rc diocese will occassionally mention how many parishoners they have, but no one ever misunderstands what they mean......it is never claimed they are doing anything but listing the total registered members in the parish. They will also mention how many members did each activity, such as a youth group or whatever. It is not misleading in any way.

Great sense of humor people!!! I have had my laugh for the morning. Every day I am soooooooooooo thankful I am not wasting time in that stupid religion. Sometimes I really shake my head that I was ever involved in it.
Hey I was trained by the Hospital Liaison Committee to perform ultrasounds in the second school right after the #4 talk so everyone was properly counted for the attendance.
We also had straps that pregnant sisters could wear that would hold song books for their fetuses during each song. That was all were praising jehovah in unity. By the way, the sisters had to open the fetuses song books for them to the right song. Them fetuses were a lazy bunch.
The entire Witness thing of "counting time" is a farce... and EVERYONE knows it. It reminds me of the old Soviet numbers... remeber that... they ALWAY INFLATED everything that could be counted.... "We harvested 1000 billion billion tons of wheat this year!.... but our people are still starving.... it's those damn Capitalists fault... I think they infected all the people with tapeworms..." That kinda nonsense.....remember? u/d
Kinda reminds me of a quote from one of my favourite books Nineteen Eighty-Four, by George Orwell (Part 3 Chapter 6) "The music from the telescreen stopped and a voice took over. Winston raised his head to listen. No bulletins from the front, however. It was merely a brief announcement from the Ministry of Plenty. In the preceding quarter, it appeared, the Tenth ThreeYear Plan’s quota for bootlaces had been overfulfilled by 98 per cent."
