Well at least the elders never acted like pious clergymen, right?
Did You Get "Butterflies" Everytime The Elders Wanted To Speak To You?

When I first started getting routine requests to the back room I'd get nervous and my stomach would hurt. Later when I found out it was my parents usually turning in me in, boy did I get "BEYOND THE WRATH OF SHELLEY" I'd sit there and prentend to listen--had the typical teenager attitude. My favorite visit to the backroom is when they had my sis back there. She was staying with me at the time. When I found out what was going on, I barged into the KH, then the back room. Told her to get in the car, then I got to unleash on them.

I'd get sick to my stomach, like, what do they want now !!!! I just wanted to be left alone but there was something I always wasn't doing right.

I would be shaking down to my very bones. I knew there had to be something I had done something to displease Jehovah despite my efforts to pleas Him and was going to be disfellowshipped for it.

I felt sorry for them the last couple of years that I actually attended the sales meetings and weekly guilt trip symposiums. They were all too busy outdoing each other in the hope they would get appointed P.O. that they forgot to read their bibles and do research. I almost had to beg to get them in the back room to discuss rumors about me. The elders were always left with their eyes downcast, lower lips hitting their knee caps and bibles never ever opened because I studied mine enough to scripturally refute anything they could come up with. They never referred to one single scripture when I was in the back room with them. The only thing they ever came back with was, "You do believe the WTBTS is the Faithful Discreet Slave and is God's only channel of communication for mankind, don't you?".
This topic reminds me that I must call the P.O. and ask to meet with him to discuss my returning back to the KH. Should I ask for the entire BOE to be present? When those poor guys see the 3500+ pages of WTBTS literature and quotes compiled by topic that proves the JW religion is a sham and a rip-off it is really going to hit the fan. Wanna bet they decline to meet with a lost sheep on this one? hehehehe -

There was a time or two during the time my mother would use the fact that I was a baptized JW against me. Once she found a pack of cigs in my room (I was staying at my grandmother's at the time when I was in college) so she felt she had the right to go through my stuff there. She took them from where I hid them and left a note "what would the elder's think" and I wouldn't put it past her at that time to report it since one of her brothers (my uncle) was an elder in the cong and she had talked to him about the "association" I had been keeping. With a mother like that when an elder wanted to speak to me all kinds of things would go through my mind.

I went thru 2 reproval JC's in my time, along with other visits of similar nature, so i know what you mean. Its a bit like in the Matrix when Mr Smith is speaking to Neo in that room. He has a 'file' on his 'double life'. He wants to 'help' him. Neo's mouth closes up (lost for words?) its just so similar!!! (ok except for the bit when he pushed onto the desk by the 2 ministerial servants, sorry henchmen, and has a mechanical bug disappear into his stomach)
Or do i think too much??

None of the elders were sexy in my congregation so no I didn't get the butterflies in the stomach thing! Now had Tij or Wapontake (from another board) or Little Toe been elders in my cong then I'd have been in a right state - what to wear, how much cleavage to display .... LOL!
Seriously though - I never did get the jitters - in fact I actually looked forward to it. I relished the private attention I got at a JC and when DFed - far more than I would have gotten being a good little pioneer girl. I'ts like what IP-Sec posted a few days ago about revelling in being a rebel - I rather enjoyed trying to shock them. Of course I was only 16 at the time.
