So what is the JW version of the events that will take place in "the last days".

Here is how I understand the JW version of things.

    1. Beginning of last days. Christ Returns (1874, then 1914) (We are still here right?)

    2. The Great Tribulation

    3. War of Armageddon, Satan imprisoned

    4. Beginning of Millenium of Christ's rule, and resurrection of dead.

    5. End of Millenium, Satan

    6. Final temptaion, and judgement.

    7. Satan Killed, and everyone who doesn't accept God's rule.

    8. Nothing but having picnics, drinking ice tea, and petting lions with all the other jws from here on out.

Help me out. Am I missing something? Do I have the order of events correct?

Apparantly not a very interesting topic.

Maybe I should rename it, Governing Body admits, "This is all bs, the truth is, Russell just did alot of acid"

Maybe you just have it right, no need to comment further.

Mind you, I thought 1914 was the start of the Millenium. So, how are you all enjoying your first 91 years of paradise?

    ig.

1914 the start of the Millennium? Gosh - so in 2914 when Satan is released to cause havoc, He'll see someone else has beaten him to it.

    1. Beginning of last days. Christ Returns (1874, then 1914) (We are still here right?) Actually Russell taught that the last days started in 1799 and was to end in 1914.

    Don't forget

The cry of peace and security

    2. The Great Tribulation

    which starts with

The destruction of Babylon the Great

Gog turning on the WTS which starts the

    3. War of Armageddon, Satan imprisoned (with the demons)

    4. Beginning of Millenium of Christ's rule, and resurrection of dead.

    5. End of Millenium, Satan gets humans on earth to attack God's representatives on earth

    6. Final temptaion, and judgement. (actually final test)

    7. Satan Killed, and everyone who doesn't accept God's rule.

    Human survivors receive everlasting life.

    8. Nothing but having picnics, drinking ice tea, and petting lions with all the other jws from here on out.

(Speculation: selected humans will go to populate the rest of the universe...just kidding)

    Okay, CYP, here's my "short-WTS" version;

One day it will rain down fire and sulphur (see all recent WTS publications)

Deaths will be selective---those who were approved JWs will live---and those who weren't---will die.

    The end

    (of the End)

What about the guys at the space station? They are not here on earth, but ain't up there either. Don't forget, in the paradise there has to be someone that is doing hair and makeup. Otherwise, the pics they use are good for one time. Who is going to be in charge of the ones that are "resurrected", so that they can find their families? Let's face it, if the same elders that are trying to run things here and now are going to be there---something just isn't right. Are brain transplants going to be included to get into paradise?

Their order of events doesn't jive with Revelation. See chapters 20 and 21.

20:5--"The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended." See v4. The "rest of the dead" are EVERYONE who will not become "kings and priests" (by WTS definition "kings and priests" are strictly the 144k).

20:11, 12--the setting is right at the end of the 1000 years (see v10). Consistent with v5, the resurrected dead appear before the throne for judgement at this time.

After the judgement comes the new heaven and new earth in Chapter 21. The setting is clearly AFTER the millenium, the release of Satan, and judgement.

Here's how it was taught to me. The world ended in 1914. The great tribulation was cut short in 1918. We were in the eye of the apocalyptic hurricane from 1918 to 1962. Jehovah cut the tribulation short so Jehovah's Witnesses only could present Watchtower magazines to people at their doors then Armageddon was to come before 1962.

Then they changed 1962 to 1975. Then they changed it to 1995. Now they changed it to 2034.

    MJ,

You are saying dubs explanation of the sequence of events doesn't jive with Revelation?
